"It’s kind of hard to find if you use your gps take the turn at the sign or you will end up on a dead end rd. The park is cute but the water is located at the entrance for the RV circle which means you have to go around one so you can get the right angle to use the service. The water coming out fine since is about a gallon a minute so if you have a big tank I would suggest filling up before you show up. The dump station is about 2 miles away and if you’re not looking for it, you’ll pass it up because it’s not properly signed"
"Van Buren State Park was built for smaller RVs and quick stops. Anything other than those and you'll suffer the inconveniences. Their dump station is incorrectly located 5 min away, outside the campground. They also lost a package I had delivered there under their care. The surrounding area is very nice, hiking for days, biking, fishing."
"Great little park. But electric only hook ups. There is a potable water spigot at the entrance to the camping circle. The dump station that their website says is available is almost 3 miles away at the main park entrance. You have to leave the park with your camper to empty. Way too far on public roads to use a "honey pot" to empty. I booked for 6 nights and this is an issue as I had to go empty tanks and refill fresh water tanks a couple times. For me as a full time RV'er their website for booking is misleading when compared to other states and campgrounds. I would have found somewhere else if the site was clearer."
"The Van Buren state park campgrounds are somewhat isolated from the rest of the park. They offer both family and horse camping. These sites were nice size and well-maintained. Some sites did have electric and paved areas. All sites seem to be fairly level."
"So cute and peaceful. Lots of hiking trails. Level parking spot and some are paved. The bathrooms are very clean and don't smell."
