The Heritage Center of Clark County - Clark County Historical Society and Museum

The Heritage Center of Clark County, home to the Clark County Historical Society and Museum, is a must-visit institution located at 117 South Fountain Avenue in Springfield, Ohio, United States. One of the upcoming events at the Heritage Center is a presentation by Millie Henley of Historical Connections, titled “Broken Country, Broken Families, Broken Hearts: Divided Families of the Civil War”. This event will take place on Thursday, April 25 at 6 PM in Crabill Discovery Hall. Henley will delve into the impact of the Civil War on families, sharing stories of ordinary families as well as notable figures such as Abraham Lincoln and Robert E. Lee. Admission is free for CCHS members, with a $10 fee for non-members.

The Crabill Homestead, located in Buck Creek State Park, is also part of the Heritage Center. This historic house, dating back to the 1820s, offers tours, demonstrations, and events during the open season. Visitors can explore this Federal-style house and learn about its rich history.

The Heritage Center is open to visitors from Tuesday to Saturday, with varying hours each day. Additionally, appointments can be made for visits outside of regular hours by contacting the center via email at archives@heritagecenter.us.
