"Dr Mandel called me personally to yell at me over the phone about my VERBAL Tone with his secretaries. I hope to get these recordings from my insurance company who was also on the phone with me- bc I was through and calm. I have 15 years of phone experience and just want quality. These women were abusive to Me. I deserve an apology from the secretaries and now The Doctor Himself. I will NEVER RERURN TO THIS OFFICE AS I AM HIGHLY OFFENDED BY THIS WHOLE PRACTICE. 0-care customer service. 0- phone etiquette (Was told this office doesn't do Online-anything, that they can do a Dictation) stuck in the 60s. Failed to send insurance prior authorization. I was told this office "doesn't do it" (hasn't been sent over in over a month) Insurance said they need Prior FROM THE DOCTOR. An online form they fill out. Something I cannot do myself as a patient. Receptionist said oh there's one lady who does them and fw me to her voice mail. THIS OFFICE DOES NOT DO PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS Properly.. Make sure you follow through and rely on Yourself"
"Dr Mandel prescribed a medication for my mother that caused horrible side affects. When I spoke with him and explained she won't take the medication anymore he was condescending and said he highly doubted her issues were from the medication. My mother was fine before the injection s"
"I had a in person interview on Thursday December 1, 2022, I was asked by his colleague during the interview, what is your salary expectations? My response was $14 to $15 an hour. His colleague replied, maybe you will find a job with those salary expectations. In other words, I didn't receive the secretarial position because my response was $14 to $15 an hour, not $16 to $19 an hour. Also, during the interview his colleague thought I wasn't worth his time and a peon and I was beneath him. His colleague even picked his nose during the interview!"
"I was referred to Dr. Mandel by a neighbor. I was skeptical from reading the reviews. Cleveland Clinic continue to give me a diagnosis of osteoarthritis for many years although I had extreme pain and swelling. Dr. Mandel did some bloodwork that was appropriate and an ultrasound which showed much more going on than just osteoarthritis. He does think outside the box. He is somewhat old-school as far as not being able to get blood work online etc. I just went and picked up my test results. I would prefer the inconvenience of having to pick up blood work to find a rheumatologist that actually looked at the problem. I recommend him. The only reason he doesn’t get five stars is because he is not as automated."
"It's been a few years since I've been there, but it is not the doctor that controls the office.....it's his sidekick, Angela. Being in charge of refills and medication has given her a holier than thou attitude and she will send in refill requests at her convenience....not when you need them. Truthfully, I'm surprised to see that she is still there. The doc is another story. Didn't realize what a good rheumatologist was until I left the practice and found someone else. Best thing I did. I don't enjoy writing a bad review, but I see people are still complaining years later about the same things as when I used this office. I would think a doctor who received so many negative reviews about a staff member would do something about it. I stopped going there when I was given samples of a medication that were, unbeknownst to me, highly contraindicated with the other medications I was taking that were also prescribed by same doctor, and I started slipping into a serotonin crises.... or overload. Became terribly ill and if I continued taking...would have died. Funny thing, I had only taken 3 doses before the symptoms of overdose began occurring. Thank you, Google, for the red flag warning. Later I had the pharmacist at the drug store run that rx through on my profile, and warning signs popped up on the computer, immediately, to NOT fill because of contraindications."
