"DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Waited for over a month to get my results. Called multiple times asking about updates. The people who answer the phone are beyond rude and do not care about the patient. My whole life was being affected by my lack of sleep, major depression, falling asleep in my nursing classes, not being able to drive because I would fall asleep behind the wheel. When I asked if there is anyway they could tell me when the doctor would be done reading the results she said “ He gets done when he gets done.” At other places they have your results and have set you up with a machine in less than two weeks! Especially if it was an emergency situation like mine was, I stopped breathing more than 44 times an hour! They should be ashamed the way they talk to patients."
"All the technicians and the people I have spoken on the phone with and met in person were very kind and understanding of my sense of urgency for getting the sleep study done in a timely manner. My only complaints are that it took me expressing I needed the results process to be sped up since the sleep apena was effecting my memory, which is important since I am currently in school and the fact it took 1.5 month to get a cpap mechine which upsetting since other people I know recieved their mechine way sooner than I did. They told me it took about 2 weeks to get everything done compared to almost two months. If I was judging the place just off of it employees who I interacted with, I would recommend them 100% but if it was for timeliness, I would encourage to go elsewhere."
"We are still waiting on test results, so no comment yet about the quality of medical staff and sleep results. The experience of the actual sleep testing was very below what I anticipated. I had expected a very professional experience... However, the night tech talked nonstop and to make matters worse he was a "know-it-all". Very uncomfortable to be around. The plan was to be in bed at 10pm, you wait in a lounge that has a TV (the only one in the building) while the other patients get "wired up"... The tech kept coming in and demanding the channel be changed to the football game he wanted to watch. Bedtime was after 11:15 pm, (due to the tech talking nonstop to all patients vs focusing on getting people ready for the study) and was woken up at 530am. This is less sleep than I get at home! I also over heard this tech talking to other patients and then he'd tell me stories about past bad patients... he spoke to everyone as if it was "his way or the highway" and had no problem telling people they had to leave (2 people left!) No compromise or soft customer service skills. I understand certain rules have to be followed, but he offered NO alternatives or compassion. Wont recommend this place."
"Wow! The office staff is very rude and lied to me about rescheduling an appointment. I arrived for an appointment after working a night shift and was told (as though I am a complete idiot) that they had called 2 months previous to reschedule and left a message on my home machine. I asked the exact date and I was give a day that was one week after I had cancelled my phone service! They of course told me they did not have my cell number-which is on my paperwork. That is the third and final time I'll pay for this. During my second sleep study I was not allowed to try other CPAP masks. I was originally told I could try any one I wanted until I could find one that was comfortable. It's taken almost a year to figure out what works for me and a lot of money! I can't believe my insurance company has not raised a red flag with respect to this place. I liked the physician but not enough to stay."
"My first time in the office of Toledo Regional Sleep Center, I waited for my appointment in the reception area. As I sat there, one of the two ladies behind the glass placed a call to another doctor’s office. While on that call, she shared the patient’s name, date of birth and Social Security number well within hearing range of anyone willing to record that information. A complete violation of HIPAA. I did a home study which indicated that I should have an in-house study done. I waited five weeks for TRSC to call me back with insurance approval but never heard from them. Miraculously, the day after I called to inquire why it was taking so long to hear from them, my insurance approval came through. That study revealed that I stop breathing 12 times an hour. According to TRSC, I needed yet one more test to make sure my breathing really was stopping throughout the night. This was just a scam to get another $6,000 from my insurance, and an unnecessary step to get a C-PAP machine. They had plenty of documentation and evidence of medical need. However, I allowed them to proceed with getting approval for this last test. After waiting three more weeks to hear back from them, I called the office and again, MIRACULOUSLY, my prescription for a C-PAP machine was sent to the DME facility that day! Amazing how that timing works out. Overall, my opinion of TRSC is very poor. The office staff is rude, unprofessional, short tempered and not very helpful unless prodded. They teeter on violations of HIPAA. If they don’t get your insurance approval on the day they first try, you are forgotten. The overnight rooms are outdated, but worse yet, they don’t change bedding between patient sleepovers. I had a 7pm intake time and was not ready for sleep until nearly 10pm. If you have the option to do your study elsewhere, I advise doing so."
