Care Closet

Care Closet is a clothing store located at 801 York Street in Newport, Kentucky, United States. We are always in need of volunteers to help us sort and curate fashion-forward outfits, as well as coordinate pick-ups and drop-offs. Our volunteers play a crucial role in helping individuals gain hope, self-esteem, and feel loved.

All donations at Care Closet come from generous individuals like yourself. We only accept high-quality gently-used items or new items. Donating to Care Closet is a great way to recycle your belongings and help those in need.

We are thrilled to be partnering with Northern Kentucky University, where students have access to a Care Closet storefront for shopping. The Care Closet is a one-of-a-kind experience, as we are the first non-profit kids clothing closet in Kentucky that allows children to shop for their own clothes at no cost to their families.

Our mission at Care Closet is all about dignity. Children who visit our closet light up with huge smiles as they select items they need, such as tops, bottoms, underwear, socks, shoes, coats, books, and personal hygiene products. We support families living below the poverty line, homeless individuals, and those who are transient.

We operate independently from school resource coordinators, and our goal is to provide children with not just clean clothes, but also hope, self-esteem, and a sense of being loved. Monetary donations are always welcome and greatly needed to keep our school CARE Closets fully stocked. 100% of all donations stay in our community, thanks to the generous support of David Hosea.
