"Had rehab prescribed for rotator cuff tendinitis. The billing estimate from the rehab office was $644 for a 45 minute appointment. If I have to go to rehab and it's going to cost $644, first I better be actually receiving rehab because the doc already 'evaluated' me before prescribing rehab, second $644 had better cover 3-4 appointments at minimum for a 45 minute visit. Complete rip-off on either the rehab facilities part or Mercy Healths part. Including the insurance deductible, at the rate quoted, I would be on the hook for almost $1400 for the 12 visits prescribed over a 6 week period with insurance. Absolute garbage. They should be ashamed of themselves. There isn't anything gained in a rehab facility that's worth $1400+ over 6 weeks that cant be obtained on Google and performed in your own home for free. If they were really concerned with the patient healing then it should be an affordable process but instead they'd rather you go broke trying to get better."
