Reviews of Dwellbox Treehouse Village
"My husband and I stayed in the Arrow. And we absolutely loved it! This was our 1st time staying in a treehouse, and it was a blast. It makes you feel like kids again. Our house was very clean. The inside and outside hot water was quick to get hot and stayed hot! I used the outdoor soaking tub and relaxed for almost 2 hours in it before I decided to get out, but it stayed remarkably warm. I was happy to have a flushing toilet and fresh running water. It's a tree house!! Our suspension bridge in, was so fun! We had plenty of space inside and out on our deck area. We used the mini wood stove and the outdoor gas fire pit. I text them to check if they had more fire starters before I walked down to the supply area and they got right back to me and told me right where they were. We didn't cook in the house so I can't speak to any of the cookware but the mugs and utensils were clean . It was really nice to have all the linens provided and shampoos and dish soaps etc. Loved that we were out in the wilderness but with neighbors. We didn't have any issues with privacy, there are curtains by the outdoor tub and shower. Also warned that the wifi might not be good and we had no trouble with it at all. Did school work on line and watched movies. It really exceeded our expectations. It was so much fun. It's not ment to be a fancy hotel. So don't book it if that's what you're hoping for. We drove over 5 hours to get here and would come back again. It would be fun rent out all the houses with our adult kids and our families. We also tried out their recommendations. We ate at Park St Pizza- delicious! And everyone that worked there was super friendly, great service. And we went to Hershberger's farm & bakery. Reminded us our our home towns farmers market. We loved it. Great selection of all kinds of snacks and bakery treats. Everything we got was excellent! Heading to the Football Hall of Fame tomorrow on our way home. Can't wait. A perfect weekend get away!"
"We traveled up and stayed in The Box for a small weekend getaway. Upon first arrival, I noticed the houses in the Village are not as private as the advertising seems, you can see the other houses through the trees (keep in mind it was fall and most of the leaves have fallen). The road down to the Village is a dirt road that might not be easy for a smaller/low car. When entering the box you walk right into the bedroom, followed by a bathroom with a shower/toilet. Going a bit farther you have the sink, and a small table and "kitchenette". There is a small fridge (that was frosted up on the inside) a microwave, toaster oven, a kettle and French press, and a small one burner camp stove. There were plates and cups and silverware. The small sofa has a great view looking out the 3 main windows. The outdoor patio was large, and has a gas firepit that was easy to start, an outdoor shower and a soaking tub. We were bummed the outdoor shower had been turned off as it was Fall, but we just were not notified about that pre-booking. The soaking tub was relaxing during the cold weather. Overall the experience is more of a camping/outdoorsy experience. It was fun to check it out once, and maybe go again to check out another "house". Make sure to bring some food/snacks if you don't want to have to drive out to buy prepared food for every meal."
"Fun experience l. We stayed at Shack. It's definitely only big enough for 2 people. Need updates on the outside grill and inside cookware. We opted to not cook, thankfully. The ladder to get upstairs is straight up and a little hard to access. Bring your own pillows. The pillows provided were flat and uninviting. May try again in the future, but may entertain a bigger property."
"We stayed in Forest Haven Otium for 3 nights, and must say that we were very disappointed. The first thing we noticed was that every thing seemed well used and old. The glass sliding door didn't slide well and was very hard to open and close. Most of the utensils in the kitchen looked like they came from someone's kitchen after they had been used for 10 years. The frying pan was especially bad, it used to be a nonstick pan and the coating was completely taken off and looked extremely gross (as you can see in picture). The other thing is that the whole place was not clean. They allow pets, and there was definitely dog hair all over the porch floor, inside, and they say pets aren't allowed on the beds, but we saw quite a bit of hair on our bedspread which really grossed me out. The kitchen sink had some dried on food, and the inside of the microwave and freezer (see picture) looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. The freezer has at least half an inch of frozen ice, in desperate need of defrosting. Needless to say, we will not be coming back here or recommending it to anyone. The place looks like someone had a vision and desperately lost it along the way. Upkeep and maintenance is severely lacking."
