"I actually trained here for a month or so in 2021. I was a brand new blue belt, had been out of training for months since moving cities, I was really impressed by the quality of the students here. The white belts were unusually robust in fundamental techniques and positions and had clearly been trained really well, there was little sloppy or lazy technique. One of them was a monster and put my bjj to shame. The upper belts whupped me as usual, but there were a bunch of impressive people overall, and a friendly group. In addition, and the reason I felt I should leave some review (better late than never), my car battery died while I was jamming to some tunes and stuffing my face after class, and the owner closed up, drove 20m to pick up cables from his garage at home, back to my car and we got it running again. I really appreciated that, and it says something about the place. Overall I'd definitely recommend it, I wish I'd had the life situation to keep training here and defeat everyone but they'll have to be patient lol."

"I love this place. My family was relocated from Costa Rica and I was looking around to find a place for my 8y/o daughter. I want her to defend by herself, be confident and empowered through no aggression or hitting because she is kind and sweet. After visiting many places with my daughter she didn't felt the "pura vida" mojo in other gyms. We visited the school and the very first day the instructors talked to her, literally at her level (they seat down and talked to her eyes); she felt welcome and the people in charge of the school (owners and Tricia) make us feel part of a family. Long story short, not only my daughter loves her Jr Lion class but I also started in my 40s (we share techniques and play at home) and I really like my instructors Randall and Steve because they are the BEST."
