"Cohron Chesnut Acres has been around since I was a kid. The owner, Mike Cohron was judge at Winton Woods Riding Center when I was showing there as a student. Winton Woods was a good option to get solid skill in horsemanship at a reasonable rate. Mrs. Cohron gave me my first first place in a student show when I was 9 years old. Those were just for shows for students at WWRC on student horses. WWRC also had "Open Shows" wherein horsemen would bring in their own private horses and show. If WWRC student show were like Elementary School, the WWRC "Open Shows" were like Middle or early High School. So we WWRC students would look up to the Cohron Chesnut Acres (CCA) riders when they came to our Open Shows, as the next level to shoot for. Fast Forward about [cough cough] years and now my own 9 year old daughter has begun horsemanship at CCA. The manager and instructor Heather Williams is awesome with the kids, and if they are unsure, she is attentive to place them on the right horse for their skill. She's encouraging and keeps it fun. She and Mrs. Cohron tag-team lessons depending on each riders needs. The real stars of the place though are the school-master horses that students of all ages ride. All have their own strengths for your student's level. This is a welcoming and hardworking barn with a heartfelt priority in keep students and horses safe and engaged in learning. A great place to get those boots in your closet dirty!"
