UH St. John Medical Center Pediatric Emergency Room

"Came in just before 9pm and left at 1 am because apparently this place can not schedule more than one doctor for the weekly night shift. After having to take my mother to Richard E Jacob’s ED in Avon so many times over the last 3 years, I see WHY they are always so full. If this ED would properly staff its building then other locations would not be so overwhelmed."

"The Pediatric Unit at Saint Johns Westlake! Your Staff all around made this the best hospital experience. My son Ellis was admitted Monday due to having a bad case of RSV. For a while it was unsure if we were going to be transferred to downtown campus and I am glad we didn’t! The entire staff here was terrific. They were personable, attentive, knowledgeable and Hands on. Honestly the care my son received here would probably not have been the same at main campus! Each of your staff members should be very proud of what they do! I enjoyed your staff and the atmosphere here that while spending the week here I have put in multiple applications because I would love to work here. So Barb,Keely, Caleb, Stephanie, Ashley, Dr. Safi and so many more people. I would like to thank you all so much for everything you have done! You all are amazing!!"

"They lost my husband. We waited for hours for my husband to get seen for a pain in his side that’s been getting worse then they put him in a hall bed. Since I had our 10 month old with us in his stroller we couldn’t stay in the back with him. The whole time we didn’t get updates on his conditions or anything and since his phone died he couldn’t tell me himself. We got there around 7pm and the baby and I didn’t leave until 1am because he refused to go to sleep. Before we left I made sure the hospital had my phone number and that they were gonna let him borrow a phone charger so he can get in contact with me after we left. Once I got home and got the baby to sleep I got a text that my husband was being discharged. I called the hospital and they said to wait so I can talk to his nurse but I was left on hold. When I hung up and called back they said he had already been discharged. Mind you, his phone is dead and I have his car… he ended up trying to walk home. Turns out nobody offered him the charger and they never made sure he actually had a ride (I even told them that I’m taking the car we all drove in back home.) He started walking home at 2 in the morning in the pitch black by himself. He could’ve collapsed after having all that pain, he could’ve been attacked by one of the many coyotes that he saw on his way home, he could’ve gotten robbed. All in all they just said he was stressed and should rest. If I could give 0/5 stars I would."

"My actual ER visit was amazing- Doctors and nurses provided excellent care. Pharmacist informed me of an error in the script and weren't able to get ahold of anyone for an entire day. Called today, was HUNG UP ON, and on the second call, the person who answered the phone was extremely nasty, wanted the pharmacist to call (understandable) and argued with me on whether or not the pharmacy even called. The Pharmacistalso said she was rude and was also hung up on. Why is anyone hanging up on people calling the ER?"

"Had to take my daughter there on Thanksgiving this year and everyone was amazing. Didn't have to wait long to get in and seen. Super friendly staff and Providers. They cared about my daughter as if she were their own."
