"I originally scheduled for all over color and highlights but there was a misunderstanding & somehow I ended up with just highlights so afterwards I spoke with a instructor that was very understanding and she told me to schedule another appt date for the following week for all over color. So I did & when I went back for my appt they showed me some colors and I picked out one & it turned out amazing! I'm very happy with the service I received and the final outcome of my hair! "I feel that the students here are truly doing their best, but the highest I can go right now for a review is 3 stars. I recently purchased a monthly blowout membership, which is a great deal, but after trying it out, it’s definitely not worth it. The blowout I got today, which is the third one I’ve received, was the worst of the three. When I sat down to speak to the student who was to do my hair, as well as her “educator,” I explained that the last two times I had had my blowout done there, my hair felt greasy and waxy when I left. I asked, specifically, that they not put tons of products in my hair so that it wouldn’t feel that way. To give you a little more insight, my hair is very fine, extremely thick, shiny, soft, and never greasy unless I were to go a seriously long time without washing it. Probably two weeks, or so, for it to get greasy on its own. The student proceeded to spray every piece with product while styling my hair, and even though I asked for a blowout with a round brush, she sort of twisted each piece of my hair instead of curling it. When she ran her fingers through it, she had added so much product that the ends were visibly knotted already, and she had to get the comb to get rid of the knots. I wanted the blowout done because I have photos tomorrow, but I have to rewash and do my hair again myself with the round brush tomorrow, because my hair looks and feels horrible. There is so much greasy residue on it that it gets on my hands when I touch it. I have no idea what they did to screw up my hair so bad. I have never had a blowout that was this bad. I usually love them. Somehow they kind of made my hair frizzy as well, and my hair is never frizzy. At the end, when both of us could tell my hair looked and felt horrible, she agreed with me that my hair was softer and nicer when I came in as opposed to when she was done. She said there was “kind of a wave going on in the back,” half heartedly. The failed attempt at curling was also terrible. I’m leaving this review so that Aveda can fix whatever is going horribly wrong in what they’re teaching their students to do during blowouts. I don’t know if there’s a bad product they keep telling them to use or what, but they really need to change something. The student who did my hair today said she was graduating this Monday. She’s either not ready, or you’re forcing her to do a terrible job on blowouts with the instructions you’re giving her."
