"The waitress acted like she was upset that she had to actually work. She wasn't friendly and she didn't deliver our food to us someone else did. She walked past our table several times and never asked if everything was ok or if we wanted or needed anything else. She acted like it was a bother for her to do her job. The pork chops were delicious. The asparagus was very thick and woody. The tender ones are the small ones and they served tree branches."
"Update:8.14.2023 Bad day for the Foundry. Cynthia...I believe was our server. She didn't show any interest in us until TIP time. Then she actually talked to us some and was nice then. A difference from how she started. Wasn't super crowded. Did Gluten free ok. Have a Gluten Free menu, as I mentioned before. Autumn did a great job last time, but this time this different server scored not a lot of points. Started with the guacamole and salsa. Chips cold and stale. Guacamole was brown in some spots. We didn't eat much because it was kind of gross. There was some sort of sauce when we came last time that I was asked if I wanted... But this time I mentioned it and the server was just puzzled and moved on didn't want to hear about it. Ignored me pretty much. I asked about the fries this time and she said they would be cross contaminated so ended up with the chips. But had to wonder how they do the gluten free poutine if the fries are not gf? We had that last time and it was pretty good. I got the gluten free wrap that had Philly slices... Peppers...a horseradish aoli.. but all the aoli was piled on one side. Was really spicy. But the the other side was without. Asked for a bloody Mary and it came with nothing. No celery, no bacon (saw that in a photo from there). I was disappointed. Was super spicy l, tasted mostly of Tabasco. It came out long after the chips and guac. So we had nothing to drink while eating our app. I asked for an iced tea because the heat from the Bloody Mary was making me choke along with all that horseradish being on one side of my wrap. But she brought no sweetener nor did she ask if I wanted any. She asked us once after quite a ways through the meal if things were ok. Wasn't till then end when we were paying the check that she got friendly and stopped to chat with us a minute. We were really bummed because we drove an hour to eat there. But we won't be doing it again. ____________ Gluten free menu is exceptional. Had poutine for the first time. Gf!! Had a GF wrap that was in SO will done. Autumn was our server and did a great job. Can't get over how Good that wrap was. The inside was very cool. Nice decorations. Really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you! You should give it a try. We will be back!!!"
"This place is called the Foundry as the owner owns a large real foundry in Grafton. He has also bought up a large part of downtown Elyria and is spending some of his hard earned money refurbishing what’s left of buildings in the downtown. It has been several years since I have been there. They have become very popular and trendy. On a Wednesday night it was mostly full by 6:00. A huge selection of draft beers. Prices were decent and the have very good salads. The only reason for four stars instead of five was the poor and unsightly outside wall. It was some foam a variety of jumbled brickwork because all the buildings in downtown were interconnected. This wall could at least be pressure washed and painted to spruce it up and yes I’ve done this this work before so I know what is involved."
