"I was beyond impressed during my stay here. Every nurse that interacted with me was very kind, I felt more like a friend than just another visitor. They willingly went the extra mile to make me feel more comfortable, checked on me often, good communication on my follow-ups, and it felt like they genuinely cared about my wellbeing. They all listened to me with an open mind and without judgement. I wish more nurses cared about their patients as much as these ones did, hence why I tend to not visit hospitals unless it's absolutely mandatory. Most nurses I have visited in the past seemed to only care about the paycheck and not know how to make patients feel cared for. Although, after how welcomed I felt here, I wouldn't hesitate to re-visit. Thank you for such an amazing experience and showing me that there are still caring & empathetic nurses around here !!"
"First of all my complaint has nothing to do with the nurses doctors all other employees . They have been wonderful in caring for me. They get 5 star service . GEAUGA HOSPITAL DOES NOT . MY complaint is that we now have to pay $5.00 for valet service. That service helps a lot of people. But when you have to now pay $5.00 that puts a burden on alot of people. I guess it comes down to the mighty dollar. Geauga hospital wants extra money no matter how they get it. SHAME on you."
"The staff at UH Geauga is great. During my mom's discharge from hospital, we noticed her cell phone was missing. The nursing staff of 1 south looked all around the areas she was in. No luck. They brought me to the UH Geauga Police hoping someone had turned it in, since they are in ER area and her phone was pinging in that area. Still no luck. Officers Mitch Gregor and Jamie Hofman went on a search for it in basement areas under ER room. Still no luck. After I had left, they continued to look (when time allowed), a short while later I received a call from them stating that they had located the phone. They found it in a large laundry hamper. They went above and beyond to give my family peace of mind. We can't thank them enough for what they did, but I will try THANK YOU SO MUCH!!"
"I was transported here from Ahuja seven days ago. I was confused as to why I was sent here, for bilateral hand surgery, rather than the main campus downtown. The orthopedic hand specialist, Dr. Jonathan Macknin, explained that by coming out here he could get me into the OR the very next day, rather than waiting several days to get me onto the schedule. I was given a room of my own, it was extremely clean and comfortable, and had a nurse and nurse’s aide assigned to make sure that I had everything I needed. As promised, Dr. Macknin operated on my hands the very next day, and did what appears to be a fantastic job. I have been here one week now, and I am completely impressed with the quality of care and attention, professionalism, and courtesy that I have received. I have had numerous stays in the hospital in my lifetime, but none of them felt anything like this. People were so warm and caring, it felt as if I was being cared for by family. I would like to take a moment and recognize some of the people who helped care for me this week. I am sure I have missed some names, but that does not change my appreciation for their exceptional work ethic. My sincerest thanks to the nurses who have babysat me this week, including, but not limited to: Bob, Stacey, Monica, Cassandra, Grace, Rochelle, Crystal, Cara, Arin, Mel, and Bonnie. My sincerest thanks to the nurses aids who have been tremendous help all week, including, but not limited to: Liz, Elle, Robyn, Suzan, Shania, Nicole, and Marsha. Karen, the patient mobility person on the floor who was not even assigned to me, stopped in daily to check on me and see if I needed anything. I am forever grateful. In addition to Dr. Macknin, I would like to also recognize Dr. Akeson, Dr. Halawa, Dr. Patel, Dr. O’Brien, and Dr. Shuster for their most excellent care, especially Dr. Akeson. The occupational therapist who stopped by and tortured me were efficient and professional, and it was clear that they had my full recovery as their top priority. Laura, the patient experience manager, has been extremely helpful and interested in ensuring that everything is going in a way that best meet my needs. The ladies at the nursing station have been super nice and helpful, and I appreciate them very much. Sherri and Amy have done an excellent job keeping this wing of the hospital sparkling clean and nice. Leon has been really patient when taking my food orders, as well as others who answer the phone down and room service. I never would’ve believed the quality of food, or the selection of items especially on the extended-stay menu, could be so amazing. Annette, Joy, and Jeff have been so very kind and bringing food each day, along with the others who have taken on this task as well. I don’t know if I could’ve lasted a week without you guys. Thank you for everything. I never realized I had such a big “family“ until I spent the week here. Thank you again to everybody for all of your hard work and all of your care. I could never do what you do, but I absolutely appreciate you all."
"First time at this ER. Mary Beth (nurse) was the best part of the visit. She was friendly, warm, & comforting when I was in the triage area. Everything else was downhill from there. Staff made me feel like I wasting my time. I came at the request of my endocrinologist. I received no blanket, no IV fluids…just a bunch of questions that led to no answers. I didn’t feel like I was taken seriously even though I fully explained my medical background & symptoms. I wouldn’t waste my time or money here again."
