MetroHealth Department of Radiology

The MetroHealth Department of Radiology, located at 4229 Pearl Road in Cleveland, Ohio, offers a unique training program that combines academic medicine with hands-on clinical experience. Residents have the opportunity to work in Cleveland's largest Level 1 Trauma Center, gaining experience in both inpatient and outpatient radiology over the course of four years. With a focus on resident education, the program provides daily didactics, Grand Rounds discussions, and interdepartmental conferences led by a team of over 30 subspecialty trained faculty members.

Residents in the Diagnostic Radiology program benefit from a comprehensive curriculum that includes case-based learning, professional development, and exposure to cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence. The program also offers pathways for early specialization in Interventional Radiology and combined IR/DR residency in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Faculty members at MetroHealth have academic appointments at Case Western Reserve University, providing residents with hands-on training in diagnostic and interventional radiology as well as a strong foundation in Radiologic physics. Graduates of the program have gone on to hold leadership positions in state and national radiological societies, showcasing the program's commitment to producing future practice leaders in both academic and private settings.

Outside of the practice environment, the Radiology family at MetroHealth includes a diverse group of individuals with interests ranging from outdoor activities to music and travel. The institution is currently undergoing a transformation project, with plans to move the radiology department to a new Main Campus hospital in 2023.
