"Solid place for sandwiches, snacks, & hanging at the bar for endless rounds of drinks with friends. The people running the show are some of the best in the industry."
"A great place for a date night or even a small party. The food is great and the atmosphere is cool. There is amazing outdoor space and cozy indoor space. Where you are there to buy wine, puruse the deli or dine in/grab a drink, this place has it all. Limited parking during peak hours, so prepare to street park"
"Got the red feather burger and it was excellent! The burgers are smashburgers, so they're not super thick, but they're cooked well and have good seasonings. Solid bun & pickle too. I'd skip on their specialty truffle popcorn -- it's fine, but the popcorn isn't fresh and the flavor doesn't add much in my opinion. I'll try a different appetizer next time. The patio could be a little warmer, especially since it's the only wheelchair-accessible seating. The patio is currently kept warm by a tent, but that does raise the question of what they do in the summer months -- if they take the tent down for the summer, where would I sit in the rain? The lack of accessible seating in the indoor area seems like it's not fully thought through, but I haven't seen their summer layout. Cocktails are quite good too! I had a gin drink which I quite liked. Their wine selection seemed pretty extensive but I was too cold to stick around and sip wine for a while."
"Always wonderful, Dutch's is a quaint and very chill restaurant in the heart of Hyde Park East. If you want that chill vibe, come early (like we did) and sit at the bar. The beer and wine is always top notch and the food menu is by the great minds at Red Feather (see my review). I had the Cuban sandwich and my wife had the pimento cheese burger, both phenomenal! The bartenders are all so friendly and just really down to earth folks. My wife had a really fantastic Cabernet and I had the pumpkin lager. Wonderful time as always! Keep up the good work D!"
"Over the last year or so, Dutch's has reopened under new ownership by the folks who own Red Feather Kitchen. This means elevated food in a revamped casual setting. There are more tables than there used to be under the previous ownership that focused more on carryout. My wife and I stopped in for a date night and sampled various dishes on the menu. We started with a wonderful cheese board ($14 for 3 kinds of cheese and accoutrements). The selection of cheeses was a great mix and we really enjoyed this delicious start to the meal. My wife spotted others snacking on the truffle popcorn ($6) and had to give it a try. The flavor was definitely unmistakable, and while it's not my favorite thing, it was at least worth a try. We split the smoke chicken sandwich ($14 with a choice of side dish). This adds pickled jalapeno, white bbq sauce, shredded lettuce, and Dutch's unique "American" cheese crumbles. This was a big sandwich and was very good. The potato salad on the side was a nice mixture of local red potato, mustard seed, and mayo. My wife also had to try their butternut squash bisque ($6) which she declared the best she's had. Overall we had a nice meal and we should be back in the future!"
