Shanghai on Elm

"I've been coming here for years, since the old location run by Chef Alex. Shanghai on Elm is a great family run restaurant with good consistent food andfriendly service. Always a fun atmosphere, it's somewhat of a comforting sanctuary for me in Cincinnati. I'm always welcomed by familiar faces and everyone respects my quirky dining habits! That it's open late is an added bonus knowing that if I roll into town late, I can get a hot meal and enjoy a few laughs. Oh, did I mention the cocktails? They don't mess around, the drinks are outstanding."

"Great choice for dinner. I stopped in after going to the convention center with friends. Friendly staff was able to seat us quickly, food was promptly at the table. I had Pad Tai with chicken/steak, it was so good. Friends had chicken & broccoli with noodles, and Beef noodle soup bowl. All of these were delicious and well made. House cocktails were crafted with expert hands, Queen Bee is a bourbon drink that I thoroughly enjoyed. I've always enjoyed crab Rangoon, but the ones served here were honestly the best I've ever eaten. Clean restrooms and dining area + fast, friendly staff make this restaurant a must when visiting the area."

"Our server April was great. She was prompt with getting us drinks and an appetizer. We had the Shanghai dumplings which are absolutely wonderful. For our main course I had the Pad Thai, and he had the Szechuan beef, both were amazing! This is definitely some place I’ll be making a point to come back to."

"Really enjoyed this restaurant. The service was so fast and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The food all came out fresh and hot with a lot of veggies and the sauces were so tasty. But the standout item was the crab Rangoon. I would have eaten 3 orders of it if I could have. The wrapper to it was so light and crispy and he filling had a touch of sweetness and oooozy creamy!! I would go back there just for that! 4 pieces come in an order and everyone needs their own. You just can’t share it , it’s so good!!"

"Outstanding experience across the board! Great location downtown with a nice atmosphere inside. Charlie provided top-notch service throughout the meal. While all of the dishes were delicious, the Pad Thai and Mongolian Beef are personal recommendations. We will definitely be back to try more!"
