"Witnessed abuse at this daycare in the infant 2 room. When I told the director about it, she ignored my concerns, told me to call the state and that she trusted her staff. A 9 month old baby boy who was new to the daycare was being held down by his back and his head in his his crib with a blanket over his entire body and head screaming for help. The staff member doing this looked exhausted as if she had been doing this to him for hours. I was told by the teacher that this is what the parents wanted because the baby was supposed to take a nap at this time. I don't think holding a baby down in their crib not allowing them to move is in any way safe, okay or legal. A balnket in the crib before 1 year of age is also illegal. No parent could ever want their child to go through the traumatic experience that I witnessed. I requested to speak to that child's parents and the director told me the parents declined to speak to me. I'm not sure if any information was actually passed along to this child's parents. I did everything I could to get answers. We immediately stopped sending our child there because of this. When we first started attending this daycare, my child took 3 naps a day. Within a week, she was down to only 1 nap a day from 12:00 - 3pm. If any of the children there would wake up before 2:30, they would leave them in their cribs. I asked if they held all the children down in their cribs to get them to nap when they want and they told me they did not do this to my child, that iust happened to only want to nap once a day now. I believe they forced all of the children to nap between 12:00 and 3pm so they could have a "break" and only staff the room with 1 person at that time. A few days I went in to spend with my child and despite the law saying they should have 2 staff for 7 children, they would only have 1 person staffing it and the director would occasionally pop in to help change diapers. I was in disbelief and completely heartborken when they basically told me to my face that I was making this up and my report of the abuse would sit in a file and do absolutely nothing. If iIwasmt happy with their response I could call the state. (I did. But this isn't something the state deals with). That baby's cry was so loud and horrific that every staff member had to have known. I imagine the baby spent most if his day crying that way. I've truly never seen anything more horrible happen to a baby in my life."
"The teachers are so nice, they know how to take care of kids. We like this center."
