"I wanted a winter get away. I found Brian on the inter-web. I phoned him and told him I wanted to have fun and learn kayak fishing the Nature Coast. I was hiring him to cut my learning curve. I tossed him a curve ball and brought a guest to "tag along" more of a Eco Tour warmer weather get away than second person to guide fishing and to guide me to fish at the same time. Well he was VERY accommodating and really did a great job as a fishing guide and tour guide on both days we had out on the water! Call Brian if you want to get out!"
"Did you know Fishhead Kayak Charters also offers Eco Tours? Well they do. Great ones at that! Brian was kind, attentive, knowledgeable and an all around nice guy! For two days, I accompanied my brother and Brian of Fishhead Kayak Charters on their kayak fishing adventures. While they were fishing, I paddled around and took advantage of Brian’s vast knowledge of the wildlife, fish life and plant life. I learned about tides and how the lunar cycle affects that, I saw oyster catchers, yellow legs, pelicans, turns, egrets, blue herons, a pair of otters, mullets, redfish, goats and much more. An absolute highlight was paddling with a dolphin. THE COOLEST!!! Well done Brian! Thanks for a great time."
"Had a great day in Yankeetown with Capt. Brian. Caught a small Snook, two large Trout and some unwanted Ladyfish. The day started with some fog and cooler weather, but warmed up nicely. This was my opportunity to try the Nature Coast, plus try out artificial lures after using shrimp for most of my fishing trips. So I had success in using some lures. Brian gave me many tips on reading the water too, which should help in fishing in new areas. Brian even planned it so we had the wind at our backs on the way in."
"I've fished with Brian several times and always have a good trip. He is very knowledgable about the area and the fish he targets. I've caught more reds, snook, and trout than I can keep up with. He does everything he can to make sure that you catch some fish. He is also a good teacher. I've learned a lot from him when it comes to inshore fishing. My girlfriend has gone with me a couple times and has learned a lot about kayaking, casting, and fishing as well. I would definitely recommend Brian and Fishhead Kayak Charters to anybody."
"Brian is a good guy and a good guide. Really good. Before we get to the fishing part, my first impression of him was that, after I emailed him through his website inquiring if he had openings over the coming weeks, he got back to me by email within a few hours, and told me he’d call me that evening, which he did. That’s good business sense. I ended up booking a couple days a week or so out, and he told me he’d keep in touch, but wanted to see what the weather looked like within a two or so day window out from our dates, which he did as well. As to the fishing part, well, I caught the largest snook I ever caught (30”), a snook almost that size and some redfish. The trout had moved out into the Gulf waters by that point. The fishing was good, and he’s a good fisherman - knows his stuff. But the kayaking part was just as important. I really hadn’t kayak fished much, and he helped me out with techniques and all that. I’m in decent shape, but not the greatest, but Brian was good about keeping a nice paddling and fishing pace, throughout the day. Lastly, we fished two different areas over two days, and he knew these marshes like the back of his hand. I know my way around salt marshes back home, and Brian knows these marshes that way. It’s clear he spends a lot of time in these areas, whether it’s fishing with a client, or fishing on his own. I had no earthly clue where I was after about 20 minutes and a couple turns, but it was clear that Brian knew every inch of those marshes we fished. I’ll hire him every time I’m in that area and will look forward to it."
