"Spoke with a man up front. We vented that the shrimp was too expensive at 7 dollars per dozen and super unreasonable. The man said "I don't care about shrimp" and he was very curt and seem to be super flustered and wanted to shut anyone who would say anything down. We used to come here all the time but now we avoid it like the plague and try to never come here."

"Upon arrival boat was not visible, we paid a large sum of money for the full day on the "newer boat" according to the lady who called the week prior and told me they had to switch our rental due to operating issues. We were told to meet the boat at the dock. The marina has two docking locations. We were not told which one. We had to find the boat. Once we saw it, I was flabbergasted at the extremely poor and nasty condition. As we were doing the check list I asked where the ladder to get on the boat was. he stated it did not have one, I was livid. They new we were going to use it only for a day of enjoyment, swimming and relaxing. I told him we needed a ladder for it to be functional for us. They told me they could bring the boat back and refund me. I informed them I HAVE family coming to the boat and we all REASONABLY expected the boat to function-able for BASIC enjoyment. He shrugged and said Sorry. I asked for a ladder to be brought he said they did not have one. Thank God My son brought his boat down, we had to get up on his boat and crawl across to this wore out barge. The cooler was a old removable medium sized cooler the lid was not even attached to, dry rot had severed the hinge parts. The two comments prior to mine were exactly right, do not rent from this place, the boats are NOT taken care of at all, there was even jagged metal not attached at the back where you get off and on, which is dangerous. Just know the pictures do not show the boats true conditions and issues on the website. Any comment from the manager will be, I offered a refund. Lady, that is not acceptable when you already have a day planned and family arriving a the boat momentarily. I kept apologizing to them about the condition of the boat and lack of ladder. When people rent boats for this amount of money, they assume reasonably it is in tact and taken care of, this was not the case."

"Hello. I have never written a google review before but I must speak about my experience so others can make an informed decision. On May 17th, 2020 we rented a 24' Pontoon Boat to cruise the Cedar Key area for the entire day "sight unseen" but saw the reviews online which appeared to be good. To confirm the positive impression, the front staff were very friendly and flexible both on the phone when making the reservation and upon my arrival around 8:00 a.m. I paid at the front desk in full and then drove to the Marina about a mile away. My family of five boarded the boat while I went to park the vehicle. When I arrived at the boat launch, I saw my entire family seated on the boat with a look of great concern. Strangely they were all quiet but clearly they wanted to say something. It was then I saw the condition of the boat. The seats were grungy and dirty with holes and cuts (See pics). There was dirt throughout the boat and there was even an old fish hook in one of the seats. My wife had to put down towels over the seats just to feel comfortable sitting down. There were old fish scales on the cutting board in front of the steering wheel, an old empty Frito-lay bag, and scratches on the wooden floor. The compass on the navigation dash was shattered and radio missing. The representative then proceeded to go over the boat operation procedures "sorry we have been very busy so you may notice the floor board splashes water through this crack when you go too fast; I have not had a chance to fix that yet." When I asked about life jackets, he points under one of the seats and we pull the seat up. The life jackets were very old, dirty and there was no clear indication of sizes for kids. I asked him if there were sizes for kids and he said there probably were but if not I could go back up the boat ramp to “some building” and find the right size. He proceeds to go over the operation procedures about the motor and depth sounder. The motor fan blades were clearly dented from prior use. He still makes no mention other mention of the condition of the boat and sends us on our way....."Just be back by 4:30 or there will be an extra charge". Honestly, we were so committed to this day at this point with money, time and travel to the location from over an hour away, we took our chances in the bay. To be clear we made it back “safely” by 4:30 p.m. When we arrived, we had already known we had lost the anchor (our fault completely). This was the very first and only thing the representative pointed out on the boat when we returned. We then told him the day was fine but the boat was not fine. He casually apologized but mentioned we would probably be charged an extra $40.00 for losing the anchor but please go back to the main office to be sure. Upon meeting the friendly front desk staff, I explained my dilemma about the condition of the boat and losing the anchor. I also clearly told them had I been able to see the boat before the rental, I would have turned around and went back home. I told them they should take the time to immediately go down and see the condition of the boat. The front staff seemed concerned but not sure what to do; Instead of going to see the boat, they decided to take my number and promise that the owners would call me about whether to charge me for the lost anchor; They said I could then tell them about the condition of the boat as well. A week went by and the owners never called me. The same front desk person called me back and said we will not charge you for the anchor. I asked about the owners calling me and she essentially said they were very busy right now but that the fee for the lost anchor was waived. It was then I told them, I would write a review about the experience… My recommendation is do not rent from this group. The boat was clearly in no condition for rental and it is truly dishonest to post pictures of a the boat in “good condition” when the reality is it is barely functional, damaged and disgusting; Plus no follow up from the owners as promised. I honestly feel cheated out of my money. Don't do it!"
