Handyman Connection of Winter Park

"I wrote a three page letter to Corporate and submitted a complaint through BBB but I cant post all that here so this is what I can tell you, We hired Handyman Connections of Winter Park to do two small bathroom remodels. The job was supposed to be done within 3-4 days. It took over a month to complete. The craftsman (besides one, Carlos) were completely unprofessional showed up late every day, would leave multiple times for various reason, ASKED ME FOR GAS MONEY BECAUSE THE COMPANY DID NOT PAY THEM, did a extremely sloppy job that my 10 year old niece could have done better. Brien, the owner decided he wanted to try and charge us an extra 385 dollars for “extra materials” that we did not agree upon. They also did not take off the materials they never bought that we ended up buying that was on the original estimate or take off the work they never did such has hang the medicine cabinet, hang the mirror in the guest bathroom, do the hardware for the vanity in the guest bathroom or change out the outlets and covers. We should not be paying for that as I did it myself. Due to us not agreeing to pay the extra $385.00 that was not agreed upon or discussed in advance, Brien has voided our one year warranty by stating in the invoice “The one-year warranty is hereby voided in lieu of a contractual change requested by the customer to eliminate the additional material and hardware fees as accrued by Handyman Connection that were part and parcel of the customer’s scope. The amount discounted is $ 385.25. I would like to note that on the estimate it specifically says: if any changes are made, a second signature will be required for a change order” Meaning that if there were extra material costs due to the job, we should have been made aware prior to any purchases being made. Now we are somehow being “punished” for the owner’s mistakes not our own, again would never let them in my house again warranty or not it just shows how rude of a person the owner is and that he doesn't know how to own up to his own mistake. Another huge concern of ours is that supplies we personally bought for the project went missing (two GFI outlets costing $25.00 dollars each, 4 special lightbulbs for the master bathroom costing $7.00 each, and a 100 pack of copper crimp rings costing $25.00 each (we had already voiced this issue with Brien that he never addressed). Brien is a filthy, rude and greedy human being that does not know how to speak to people or rectify any issues. Brien never once gave us an apology (I am almost certain he doesn't know how to apologize or know what an apology is) for how the job had gone, how long it was taking, or for the way his craftsmen behave. Brien was completely disrespectful throughout the entire project. I am disgusted by Handyman Connections of Winter Park and will warn everyone I know to never use these guys. The only saving grace of this job was that after multiple craftsman, they sent us Carlos. Carlos was finally able to finish the job and finish it right. His customer service was great and was very apologetic to us. If it wasn't for Carlos I can guarantee the job would have never been completed. If for some reason you dare to hire this company (which I HIGHLY ADVISE AGAINST) you should request Carlos. If you don't, be prepared for the worst nightmare of your lives. We have been in contact with the Vice President of Handyman connections so if anything gets rectified I will update the review to reflect. I Just felt the need to warn anyone that is thinking of Hiring Briens company because it was terrible what we went through with them and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy"

"Brian and Bryson manages the office, I believe:) Assumption. Brian is a top notch in this town for Handyman Connection. Brian is genuine, honest and he knows the job also...Only there is no miltiiary discounts:) Yesterday we had a great experience with Sterling carlton. Sterling was punctual and he did come on time on a Saturday. He was sharp, Prior to his coming, he also informed, he is on the way. He knew his job well and he also advised on few things about some new projects, which we can give to Brian and his company. Sterling is a nice person, most knowledgeable in Brian's Organization, he knows the job well. Please pass on my sincere thanks to him for the good job done on February 10th 2024 - Saturday.. ew others to mention : John and Ben -family appreciates their honesty, good work ethic-do not waste time nor sit and talk or so -highly professional. Victor earlier he was pretty sharp and intelligent Bryson is appreciated as per my family.
