"Alight is a great place to live for student living! Friendly staff, abundant resident and guest parking, and the rent is reasonable for a fairly close location to the UF campus. I would recommend!"

"Be aware that you will sign a contract that doesn't have clause for canceling your contract with just paying a fine!!!!! You will need to find tenant to replace you and that is with your price while the office will always offer lower price or the office will try to replace you after they rich 100% of their rental capacity and good luck waiting on this. So, the only option if you have to exit their contract is getting a legal help. All of this is not right considering the prices and the good renting market for them. I will make an update on how this gets resolved for me."

"This place is horrible, and I am sad to say so. Not only do they have countless issues, but the entire place is run down. My roommates and I have not had water for 3 days now because it came out of our showers, sinks and faucets BROWN. When we asked them to do something about it, they said they were waiting on utilities and were waiting for "an update". We can't shower, we can't drink water, we can't do laundry -- and no one seems to care in management. We had our A/C break three separate times over weekends when the office was closed. We have homeless people smoking weed in our stairwells on a weekly basis. I have consistently felt unsafe and not prioritized here, so I do not recommend letting a college student live here. It may be cheaper than other places, but there is a reason why. I usually do not write negative reviews, but I do not want another college student to sign here and pay money to end up being disappointed."

"Predatory business practices taking advantage of college kids. I only stayed here for three months for a summer sublet, my brief experience at Alight was awful. Within two weeks of moving in I was forced to leave my apartment as they remodeled it, after I spoke with the manager Courtney she insisted that I should enjoy the model room. This was very dehumanizing as not only was I not reimbursed for being forced out of my unit for 4 days, I was expected by management to enjoy the model unit that lacked any character or homey features. After I told management that this treatment was immoral they told me that according to the lease, they are not obliged to provide the unit that I signed the lease for. It's not very comforting to live in a community that cares more about legality than any form of empathy. I was also charged 25 dollars every month for a parking spot even though I commuted using my bicycle, once again I was reassured by management that I am bound by contract and that there was nothing they could do. Alight employees also freely walked into my apartment multiple times whenever I wasn't able to answer the door, tenant privacy must not be important to them. On the final moving day, the elevators were down in the property and I was forced to move all of my furniture down four flights of stairs. Of course, since the elevators were down it took longer for me to move all of my furniture, however, management had no empathy for this. They instead decided to charge me a $53 late fee because I wasn't able to move all of my furniture out of the unit by 12 pm. Alight is no different than any other apartment complex in Gainesville, predatory management can and will exploit the terms found in the lease to get as much money as they can from college students. From my 3 months of living at Alight, I cannot recommend anyone to live here."

"EDIT: Our AC is broken. It will not be fixed for days. The apartment is currently at 86°. Maintenance came to give us an air circulator that has not lowered the temp for 4 hours. They are still painting our entire interior tomorrow at 8am even though we move out in a month. They are also making US cover all of their furniture for the painters, when that is a job for maintenance or the painters. On top of that they threatened to fine us $250 if not completed. Photos attached. My male roommate and I lived at alight for two years and resigned for a third year only for management to try and separate us into different units based on gender. They couldn’t make any arrangements work so we were forced to break our lease (which they of course charged us $200 for) in order to stay living together. We happily signed at a new apartment that actually follows housing laws on not discriminating based on gender. It’s annoying that there is no self service for packages- when you order something, the front office emails you to come get it from them. This can be frustrating when you order something you need asap, because when the office is closed on Sunday and evenings, there’s no way of getting your packages. There have also been a few times where I have never gotten an email for a package even though I know it’s been delivered. Our washer has had issues for months now. The best thing about Alight is that parking is cheap. But there’s homeless people in the garage pretty often. Couch cushions will constantly peel even when replaced because they use the cheapest furniture. They recently asked us to take everything off the walls in the apartment and move all the furniture and be out of the apartment for the whole day to paint the walls. This was during graduation / finals week. We obviously refused because we are moving out in a few months anyways. Maintenance is seriously tone deaf with situations like this. Overall I am just ready to move out! So are my roommates."
