Reviews
"I am writing this review because Gregory Carey is the best leasing agent I have ever encountered in my life. Gregory goes above and beyond and well exceeds all standards and truly cares for all the residents. You can tell he loves the work that he does and that shows every time I interact with him. Gregory is the reason I chose to renew my lease at the Continuum and is the reason I ended up there in the first place. Thank you Greg for your exceptional service and your hard work!"
"I stayed at The Continuum for a year (from '22 to '23) and ultimately decided not to renew my lease because the negatives outweighed the limited positives. Positives: - I appreciated the proximity of the location to downtown restaurants and bars, and the main campus was easily accessible - The rent was reasonable for a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom layout compared to other options in the area (although I've heard that prices have recently increased, so I'm unsure if this is still the case) - Maintenance requests were generally handled promptly - Dunkin and small convenience store just steps away - Residents are more so professionals (Graduate students, UF Staff, Faculty) Now for the negatives: My initial impression was positive, but it quickly deteriorated when I began the move-in process. I had been on their room waitlist and received a call a few weeks before the fall semester started, informing me that a room was available. I completed all the required documents and was told that I had been approved (both verbally and in writing) and didn't need to do anything else. However, I encountered difficulties setting up my resident portal, and when I expressed my concerns, I was reassured that everything would be sorted out by move-in. Despite my unease, I called multiple times leading up to move-in and was repeatedly assured that everything was in order and any issues would be addressed later. It was only the weekend before my move-in date that I discovered my documents had never been approved, and my room was no longer available for me since it had been given to someone else. Their proposed solution was to upsell me to a room that would cost nearly $500 more per month, with no accommodations made for the inconvenience. I pushed back, and Elle, the leasing manager, attempted to shift the blame onto me, falsely claiming that I had delayed signing the initial paperwork for a week. Fortunately, I had documented proof of everything being signed within 24 hours. I wasn't a fan of her gaslighting and only saw a real effort to help me after I mentioned that I had sought legal counsel, and it also helped that I was able to connect with a UF housing administrator to resolve my issue. Afterward, a "premium" 2/2 became available for the original price I was meant to pay. The parking garage frequently flooded, creating a small lake on the second floor. Graffiti, trash being left in common areas, and elevators frequently malfunctioned, and security measures were subpar. I had my scooter stolen on SW 5th Terrace and received inadequate support from their team, even after seeking assistance. One of the most significant issues was the lack of cameras. While there are apparently cameras in the parking garage and at some of the gated entrances, the overall security infrastructure left much to be desired. The pool, the gym, and especially the rooms are in need of a remodel since all the materials felt cheap. And if you had guests, you would need to get a limited parking pass that you could only sign out during office hours, otherwise, 99% of the time your guest is getting a boot in guest parking spots which are only located on the top of the garage. Overall, I was really disappointed with their lapses in professionalism, customer service, and with their internal communication efforts - being the worst I've encountered while living in Gainesville. Email responses often contained conflicting information, and I had to point out contradictions multiple times regarding leasing issues. I'm not sure how they divide email responsibilities but I was often left with conflicting information and confusion."
"Since 2019, I have been living in the Continuum, and the initial three years were fantastic, bringing me much happiness. However, things took a turn last March when there was a flooding incident from my upstairs neighbor. Unfortunately, the managers' response was disappointing, as they claimed their primary duty was to protect the building, not the residents, leaving me feeling unsafe in this environment. After patiently waiting on a two-year waiting list, I finally moved to a new big apartment. However, within the two weeks since my move, numerous issues have arisen: 1. The mattresses provided were used by previous residents and were not cleaned at all, so thin, and uncomfortable; Not the Continuum's own mattresses. 2. The washing machine has accumulated mold around the rubber seal of the door, resulting in an unpleasant odor. However, I took action and cleaned it thoroughly within two days. 3. The dishwasher is also unclean, emitting a rotten odor, with its filter filled with disgusting waste. 4. The sofa and chair in the apartment were covered in animal hairs from the previous resident and had fingernails under the pillows and scattered in different areas in the apartment. 5. The Wi-Fi connection is consistently poor, causing connectivity issues. 6. The parking area becomes flooded with every instance of rain. 7. The elevator in my building frequently encounters technical problems, leading to periodic outages. 8. Upon completing my previous contract, I embarked on a new one. However, I was surprised to find that they want me to pay transfer fees. They assured me that the new mattresses would arrive this week, but then they postponed it to the following week. Consequently, I've been left without proper mattresses for an entire month. They did propose replacing them with used ones from another apartment, but once the new mattresses arrive, I won't have the option to exchange them. Instead, I would either have to keep the used ones till the new ones arrive or purchase new ones at my own expense. - Despite these challenges, the maintenance staff has been exceptionally helpful, working tirelessly to address these issues promptly. They have demonstrated overwhelming dedication to resolving matters and are always polite and friendly in their interactions. - The staff at the front desk are consistently helpful, understanding, and unfailingly pleasant in their interactions. Another notable advantage of the Continuum is its excellent location, which is incredibly convenient and situated very close to the campus."
"I am so excited to be moving into this building. I used to live at Midtown Apartments and this place is so refreshing compared to that place. I was supposed to move in Aug. 8th, but today my roommate got a call that we could move in today which was so nice of them to give us that opportunity instead of us waiting. The apartment was perfectly clean when we got there, amazing appliances, and great space. Gregory at the front desk has been amazing help for us with the move in process and could not be more grateful for him and all his help."
"I have lived at the company one for the past 4 years. They have been kind and considerate and taking care of all of my needs. The view outside my apartment I beautiful, and is walking distance to downtown. My only complaint is you can hear the traffic outside my apartment at night. Overall, it's a great place to live especially for graduate students! I will miss living at the continuum when I graduate soon."
