"I worked for Findler & Findler for 9 years doing Social Security Disability law until doctors forced me to quit working due to my own disabling conditions. I took a huge pay cut going to work for them, and was promised a raise after 90 days, then one every year. While I brought in more fees during my years there than they had EVER received, I never once received a raise, although I asked many times. Should you look through the reviews, you will see my name in the far majority of them. Even still, their testimonials on their website are more about me, though I left them at the end of 2015. I wonder how many people still call and ask for me. Huh! When I was hired, there were 27 attorneys, then 2 left just before I started working for them. There was also at least 25 staff members. Most all of them left due to the same reasons of no raises, no matter how much money that they brought into the firm. I know for a fact that the office manager and her daughter and at least one other staff member received raises during those years. The office manager's daughter, who is the Controller, isn't even a CPA. She was given that title shortly before she gave birth to twins, and worked mostly from home. How does one take care of infants or toddlers AND do their job working mostly from home??? I know that she even changed some of the testimonials removing my name from them as I received the most positive reviews, and I still have copies of the originals. When I left, there was only the Findler brothers and a part-time attorney and a very small staff. Yes, I stayed there for 9 years, without a single raise, because I really cared for Lloyd Findler, the managing partner and my direct supervisor and most of the staff. Family and friends encouraged me to leave many times to make a better living, but I insisted that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I could have made a change to another law firm, but may not have liked whom I worked for and with, so I stayed, always hoping that I would be given the raises that I so well deserved. Every year, insurance costs to staff went up, which made my income go down each year. They were the ONLY company that I ever worked for in my entire life that didn't include paying in full for insurance, etc. Since the SSA only takes the last 5 years of your work history to determine your benefits, I now live at poverty level with very little to pay my bills, get my many prescriptions, pay for the only absolute necessities, transportation, with nothing left to get me through to the next month for my benefits. I was using my county's senior transportation service to get me to my medical appointments, but they ran out of funding, so now I use another transportation service that is within reason, but still difficult for me to pay for. I also get Medicaid assistance and SNAP/EBT benefits, but the SNAP benefits aren't enough to get me through a month, so I have a friend who goes to a food bank for me each week for groceries, since I no longer drive nor have a car. So...when you choose a law firm to help you with your disability, personal injury or workers' compensation case, think about how they treat their employees. Yes, they are a very good law firm, but how they treat their employees with never giving raises, except to a select few very quietly, is abysmal and unconscionable."
