"We took our son's car in for a bumper replacement. Richard Tona was very accommodating. We walked in with no appointment and he saw us right away and gave us an estimate on the spot. He was also able to start the work the next day, which we really needed. And it only took 4 days to finish -- really 2 days because the other 2 days were holidays and the shop was closed. The work was done very well and the cost was reasonable (and there were no surprise cost additions beyond what was on the estimate). "With the history of high reviews this place has, I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Tona automotive. I was involved in a mild fender bender and my coworker recommended this establishment. I brought the vehicle to the owner the day the accident happened and he expressed that everything should be fine, the fix will not be too bad so I prepared to use them. The owner called next day, I believe, and said can you bring it back so I can take my own pictures to get my estimate ready to send to insurance. No problem, I emailed him my insurance estimate, my husband brought the vehicle and said Tona was getting the bumper piece ordered everything will be ready to go. Several days later, Insurance wanted a day that I will be leaving the vehicle at the shop in order to arrange my rental car. I called Tona and said, can I bring the vehicle the next Monday May 2nd? He said yes Monday is great. I took the time away from work and had family follow me in dropping off the car, bring me to Enterprise, get the rental blah blah..All will be great, we were very happy to find such easy going staff. At 11am on that Monday Mr Tona called and said this is beyond my scope of work, won't be able to match the color, etc that he declined to do the job....I said I really wished you could have told me that in the two visits we had prior before I agreed to drop the vehicle off....Especially in this climate of part shortages and limited availability at other shops..I would have never arranged a rental car, I would have simply shopped around some more...I asked who do you recommend I use? He said anywhere, call around, there's many. My jaw dropped at the lack of concern he showed regarding his moment of unprofessionality with us. To end the story, I called several other shops who said they were not taking any new jobs till July. We found one who could get to the job within 2 weeks. We did not have a reasonable experience with this place, hopefully you will.."
