"I purchased milk at this location. When I arrived home and opened it I discovered it was spoiled before the expiration date. I wasn’t able to make a special trip back to the store to return the milk for a week. The cashier said that because it had been a week there was nothing they could do about it. I explained that I have a job and didn’t want to carry spoiled milk in my car all day when I was at that job, so it took a week to get back to the store. He laughed and said there was nothing they could do."
"I attempted to enter the store, but I was prompted by Precious, the person working at the store to leave my bag with her. I have never been so humiliated the way she made me feel. I was trying to purchase a bottle of water and I wasn’t going to leave my backpack that I use as a purse with her with all of my important personal information. My thirst can wait til I get home. It’s not that serious. Ever since COVID-19 I find myself walking out of my home with masks, hairs ties, sanitizer, gloves and other things so I need a big purse. I don’t like purses...I like backpacks instead...they are more practical! Precious was so rude, unfriendly and nasty."
"The manager anthony very skinny guy with glasses had an attitude catching a tantrum asking customers to leave the store for no reason. this family dollar is going to lose customers because of this guys rude attitude ."
"Showed up to buy a single gallon of milk at 9:57 (closing shift 4/10/18) when they close 10. Door is locked. A female employee sees me through the window from the register and gives me the "sorry" shrug and points to her wrist. I'll put my phone out and point to 9:57 on my phone and she comes up to the door and says through the glass "sorry we close at 10". "It's only 9:57 and I need one item." She literally rolls her eyes, sighs, and lets me in and has an attitude the entire time. I was literally checked out by 9:59 (still before closing time). Worst attitude in an employee I've ever encountered."
"I've been a regular customer at the Family Dollar location in Orlando, FL, on Goldenrod Road and University, since it opened. Last night, I purchased several bulky, heavy items. As I was paying for my purchase, the cashier rudely said, "The cart stays inside." I said, "What?", and she repeated, "The cart stays inside." It was pouring down rain, and I was not parked close, as it was a Friday night and there are several restaurants in the same shopping center. I'm a 52 year old teacher, with back issues. I was tempted to simply return all of the items, but that would have been a waste of the half hour I spent in the store. The 2 liter bottles of soda I bought were in such small bags, that when I tried to pick them up, they fell out. My frustration was obvious, but no alternative was offered to me. At least the cashier could have been trained to apologize upon delivering the news that I'd have to schlepp everything I bought by myself, and offer options, to make my shopping experience more pleasant. I'm a very easy going individual, but I was so angry and frustrated by this incident, it literally ruined my night. Needless to say, I will never darken the doors of any Family Dollar. I don't know who's stupid idea it was to suddenly disallow carts to be taken outside, but I hope the risk of losing a cart or 2 will offset the business that will be lost because of that policy."
