Reviews
"Family friendly and absolutely insanely gorgeous! This is my favorite place in the area. There are a lot of tree roots to walk over, so that is one thing to note. I have seen so many awesome animals here, turtles, alligators, so many birds, etc."
"Nice quick hike between 1-2.5 miles. There are a few different colored trails. If you were to combine them you might get about a 2.5 mile hike in. If you just stay on the yellow trail you might get slightly over 1 mile. The yellow trail runs along the creek and crosses bridges at either end. Trails are marked by a post with colors on them. There is a map at the trail head but I bring a print out of the trail map from the City website. There are a few picnic tables and grills, an outhouse style potty and primitive camping is available here. Trails are open to hikers, horses and dogs. Trails are low and do get a bit muddy in spots after a rain."
"It's pretty, lots of vegetation, and wide, sandy trails. Trails are not well marked. But there is a trail map posted at the trail entrance. We only went in the yellow trail. Dogs on leashes allowed."
"Horses and dogs welcome! Trails are wide, needs some cleanup still. Saw a 5 ft diamond back rattle snake in the parking lot, and 1 black racer, not alot of birds to see tho."
"This city-owned park is free and open to the public. The trail system follows the Myakkahatchee Creek. We saw an alligator, egret, owl, lizards, and more. For the most part, the area is undisturbed. Parking is convenient and bathrooms are available."
