Reviews of The Duke (Alabama State Park Outpost Primitive Campsite)
"Although we didn't stay here, this camping spot is fantastic! The tents were very clean with no "old canvas" smell. The sites were situated far enough apart to feel private. You also have access to all Gulf State Park amenities (heated pool, tennis courts, bathhouse, laundry, camp store, etc.). Cozy semi-rustic camping spot close to town."
"We had a great meal at Outback! Our waiter William, (Rob) was great. He helped me pick out a perfect margarita, it was fabulous. We had Victoria filets which you could cut with your fork, me sweet potato, Bill baked potato and a chopped blue cheese pecan salads. Honestly everything was perfect. William was extremely attentive and never missed a beat! So wonderful to get out for a great time with a great meal and great service!"
"Great experience. I went for 2 days and then decided extend 1 extra day. The campsite is NOT in the beach, but opposite direction. To get in, you have to walk around 1 mile on a paviment trail from the parking lot (cotton bayou p.l. trail is the closest one). There is three tends with a shared restroom, shower and faucet both waterpump NOT drinkable and also got firewood ready to use. Inside the tend there was an outlet car style and lamp (solar) which provides limited energy. I would do again."
"Very rugged tent has deck floor so buges can still crawl in shower is a outdoor bucket shower and the water pump water is rusty its a mile walk on paved trail to site"
"This site looks really nice. We were staying in the RV park and came and looked at it. If we wanted to do primitive camp and not bring a tent... This would be the way to go!"
