Reviews
"I can’t count all the times that their pool area has been closed. This includes the sauna and hot tub. “Sorry” and “I know how you feel” responses from staff just don’t cut it anymore. Refunds for lack of services should be offered, but that will never happen. Sad!"
"Emily Conklin who works for an organization whose very mission is to ensure equitable access for all so that all families have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. This individual is upset that a true story a 6-year-old who integrated New Orleans schools in the 1960s was being shown at school. Stop trying to erase the history of marginalized communities!"
"The development director Emily Conklin has negatively affected ALL the children in Pinellas county schools. She asked that the story of Ruby Bridges not be told.. If she is a representative of the Y then their mission statement should change or she should be removed."
"The historical reviews here are alarming and illuminating. Given that a member of your staff is objecting to Ruby Bridges, a pg-rated Disney biopic about a six year old girl who was the first African-American child to attend desegregated school in Lousiana, I am very concerned about the way children of color are treated by this organization."
"I would not advise taking advantage of the YMCA childcare services unless you have a near perfect child. A new site manage started two weeks ago (Jen W.) and she is already seeking to terminate my son from the program and although his behaviors are mild, they said it’s because his behavior from months prior. That saddest part is cooperate (Julie) has absolutely no understanding for the families they service. You would think this was a privately own business. So disappointed."
