H.O. Dabney Pool

"It really looked like a nice place from outside, however we never got to go inside. The gate was open but a sign was up saying temporarily closed. We went up to the gate a high school lifeguard came up to us and said the pool is closed for the entire day. I asked why because the internet show that it was supposed to be open. The lifeguard said we decided to close it for maintenance issues. There were six lifeguards that we saw from outside. They were all in the pool playing swimming using the water slide and no one else was allowed in the pool. I pointed out to the teenager that everyone of the lifeguards was in the pool swimming so it didn't look like there was a maintenance issue. He said oh, we just got done working. We're closing the pool up in a minute. However, we sat in our car to find another pool to go to and then we pulled away. In that time we continued to watch them, use the slides and swimming pool. And even after we had pulled out, we never saw any lifeguards leave but continue to play in the pool. It must be nice for those six teenagers to have their own private pool for a party in the middle of the week. Not sure what adult is in charge of this pool but clearly they don't check on it. "great clean pool! I really love the 7ft section where I can just hang for awhile and then do laps. so refreshing. they are open 12-5pm. you need to get there early if you want to get in at 12, because they only allow 300 people in at a time, I got there at 1pm last Friday and had to go home. but they call you if you leave your phone #, which was really neat."

"Love this pool and it's SLIDE! It's a 40+ min drive from our house, and currently only open on the weekends, but we have had a great time each visit. Entry is only $2 per person and items at the concession stand are shockingly reasonable. Well worth your money. Fills up quickly on hot days so go early or be prepared to wait. We waited less than 25 min today 2 hours before closing at "5". They clear the pool at 4:45."
