"Lovely place inside the villages, Fla. They have gyms, rooms for groups. While we were there, they had an honor service for retired military that cannot fly anymore on airplanes. Was very touching and they gave them the utmost respect. Plenty of parking."

"Having served on the U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1980 to 1984, I was excited to visit the Eisenhower center in The Villages. What a beautiful memorial to all the military branches and to those who served. I was slightly disappointed, though, that there was very little about the namesake aircraft carrier which I called home for 4.5 years. There are all sorts of donated military memorabilia on display. The most heart wrenching were the letters to families informing them that their loved ones had been lost in action. I was surprised to hear a big band orchestra playing in one on the large auditoriums. Bravo! Quite a collection of talented local resident musicians practicing their passion."

My besties hubby was being honored with a quilt made by some amazing women. They were honoring him for his service as a Vietnam Veteran. Remember how hard it was when they came back and they were disrespected? They were only doing what they were told, by their boss, the Commander and Chief.
