Hickory Grove Early Learning

"I have worked for Hickory Grove Early Learning for 2.5 years. I have to say that I have never loved a job as much as I do working for Hickory Grove. Just recently there was a very negative review about our center (see Reilly's below). This heinous review wouldn't be here if she didn't just get fired after a short time of being employed at the center and her statements about us are completely false! I can speak for all of us teachers that we love your children and take the very best care of them. We do not have favorites and the children are all treated equally. We love working with them and watching them grow. I am a lead teacher there and I'm certified. She's incorrect about teacher certifications. As an older woman, it really saddens me to see our society the way that it is today. It's all about revenge and how can I "get back" at someone or a facility because of something that I obviously lacked? Again, I love Hickory Grove, the wonderful teachers that I work with, Ms. Erin and most importantly your children. Please don't let an ex disgruntled employee sway your decision to have your child attend our center."

"As a former employee of this daycare, very short-term I am highly disappointed in the way I saw children being treated, and how unorganized this daycare is. Children are yanked up by their arms leaving red marks and bruises, children are yelled at all day long, 70% of the “teachers” working in this establishment do not like children and complain verbally about each child all day long. I was a caring employee in this facility that loved the children and was fired because I brought it to the directors attention that my child was being treated unfairly and terribly by ashlea and Becca(two of the vpk teachers). The following day after expressing my concerns I was fired, I hoped the director would fix this issue or change my daughters class to accommodate her but she chooses favorites and would rather have mean nasty teachers than happy kids and caring teachers. None of the lead teachers have proper certification to be teaching children. This place needs shut down immediately. Please pull your kids from this daycare, no one is watching the kids especially school children they run out of the room and roam the school with no supervision, teachers are lazy and always on their phone not caring about children unless they make them angry then they take action against them."

"This school is awful, your kids will not be treated kindly, they will not be nurtured or comforted. The teachers do nothing but yell all day long, gossip, sit on their phones and complain about the children. My child was treated terribly in her VPK class by Miss BECCA and Miss ASHLEA. I wouldn’t trust this place with a pet rock, let alone children. The school follow 0 DCF rules and allows lead teachers with NO proper certification. My DCF complaint has already been placed. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE GOING HERE. Would give 0 stars if I could. Just to add, my daughter was picked up on multiple occasions crying by herself while her teachers sat at the desk on her phone. Can’t wait til this place gets shut down !!!!!"

"My kids have been going to Hickory Grove all together of 6 years. Both of them are now gifted students at Charles E. Bennett. The director at Hickory Grove is amazing. Her staff is extremely well certified in teaching the kids and making sure they are learning to be respectful alongside becoming ready to go to elementary school. It is a shame we don’t appreciate our teachers more for spending the amount of time they do teaching our children. They definitely should be paid more. Thank you to all the staff and director of Hickory Grove Early Learning. Keep doing what you are doing."
