St Vincent de Paul CARES Community Thrift Store
About the Business
St Vincent de Paul CARES Community Thrift Store is a charitable institution located at 180 34th Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. This store operates on the principle of giving back to the community through everyday purchases. Donated items such as household goods, clothing, and furniture are provided free of charge to those in need through a voucher system managed by SVdP CARES and the SVdP Conferences in South Pinellas County. Items that are not sold or given away are recycled.
Shoppers at the thrift store can feel good knowing that nearly 90% of every dollar they spend goes back into housing programs that support individuals, families, and veterans in need of assistance. Last fiscal year, over $45,000 worth of furniture and clothing were distributed back into the community, along with an additional $100,000 worth of goods provided to those in need.
Volunteers are welcomed at SVdP CARES Community Thrift Store to assist full-time staff with day-to-day operations during regular business hours. Court-ordered community service can also be fulfilled at the store. Donations can be made by scheduling a pickup, bringing items directly to the store, or contacting (727) 328-2730 for more information. Due to a high volume of requests, pick-up times may be delayed.
Overall, St Vincent de Paul CARES Community Thrift Store serves as a vital resource for the community, offering support to those in need and giving back through charitable initiatives.

"Shopped here for first time yesterday. Did not know clothes are all 1.49 on Wed. Was a good experience from moment I walked in. Cashier said hello, manager was putting out merchandise & greeted everyone. Got 5 pieces of clothing for 7.97 total with tax. All except 2 looked brand new. Will definitely go back. Parking is a bit of challenge but we were able to park on side street next to store."

"Friendly staff, well organized store. Very reasonable prices and the items are nice. It is obvious they do a lot to help those in need in the community, which is really nice to see. Books were .49¢-$1 and they had a lot to choose from."
