"Don't let the store's old-timey vibe fool you - their orthotic services are cutting edge! After a couple of unsuccessful attempts at finding help for plantar fascitis and balance issues elsewhere, I dropped by Faklis and have been stable and pain-free ever since. "A civilian podiatrist told me I needed custom made orthopedic insoles but they were very pricey. I cringed at the suggestion. The VA podiatrist issued me a pair of heel lifts and told me to "rest" my foot. Grrr! I have had it with resting my foot!!! Then "my brother from another mother" suggested I visit Faklis to buy heel lifts for my shoes. I made an that same day. During my appointment, Vasile explained I did require custom inserts. But before I could reject the suggestion, he showed me a pair and went on to say they would be handmade "in-house". I agreed because I liked the idea of supporting a local small business in my community. I was also ready to return to fit walking 3 to 4 miles 5 days a week. Faklis is my new favorite local small business for advice on good shoes and socks.
