"The island itself is amazing - extremely beautiful and peaceful with amazing sights of some of the most majestic birds! The problem are the disgusting human beings that go there on the weekends! If you come really early, you will be lucky to enjoy some peace and quiet for an hour or two until the twenty something year olds wake up and decide to come to the island for a day infused of heavy drinking! If you want to go on the weekend be prepared to get stuck between deafening reggaeton on one side and profanity infused rap on the other! You might also enjoy some twerking of drunk girls, desperately trying to impress the lame male DJ's comparing their super human powers as playing the above mentioned music to the max volume! The youth that you will see on weekends is a sad crowd of losers who don't care about nature or the wildlife whose habitat they intrude into! There are signs that forbid loud music but those people do not care! Of course there are normal people that go there but have to leave as soon as the loud music comes because it is simply impossible to take all that noise! I highly recommend a visit during the work/school week when you can really enjoy this hidden jam of amazing views and nature! Florida Wild Life Officers need to step up their game a bit!"

"We like to boating in Lake Butler and spend some time on the sandbar, but some boaters come with loud music and more than one at time that is not comfortable."

"Bird Island is one of the prettiest places I've ever been. I've been going there since I was a kid and now I'm 47. I took my daughter there in a canoe. We hung out there for a few hours. We walked around and looked at the fish in the water. We were able to walk around about half of the island. Unbelievable photo opportunities everywhere. I wish I could go there every day."
