Sterling Shores Beach Resort - Destin Vacation Rentals by Vacasa

"We recently stayed in unit #717. The unit was spacious and clean. The location of the unit and view was wonderful. There are a few amenities that we would recommend, be added. The toaster and coffee maker need replacing. The coffee maker literally took 20 mins to brew 6 cups of coffee......30 mins for 10 cups. It took 4 toasting "sessions" to toast. There are no potholders on the unit. Also, the dishwasher is not attached. It was very loud when using. The beds were comfortable. But for the few issues with the kitchen, the unit was nice. For travelers that intend to utilize the kitchen for meals etc, there are minimal kitchen cookware, utensils etc."

"We've been coming here for 20 years. Well maintained, professional staff, great location to an excellent beach. Short stroll to be from property to the beach. Less than two minutes. Pretty ocean view from the balcony. Easy access to restaurants, bars and stores. Two pools. One kid friendly and a more adult geared one across the street adjacent to the beach."

"*unit 606 was filthy! I took several pictures to show just how disgusting it was. It clearly doesn't get deep cleaned and sanitized between guest. *fridge was OFF when we arrived. Then took two days to finally get cold enough. Had to throw out spoiled groceries. *sofa is falling apart. Had to put a blanket down before sitting on it due to how dirty it was. *huge hole in the hallway ceiling was supposed to be repaired before our arrival. *washer us DISGUSTINGLY FILTHY! * dryer is so rusted on the inside it ruined clothes (wasn't paying attention when i put the clothes in, I was too distracted by the filthy washer) *baseboards and windows are EXTREMELY dusty. They haven't been wiped down in months! *king mattress appears to be extremely old and VERY uncomfortable! *hardly any hot water! And yes, I complained about all of these things during our stay. Vacasa staff doesn't seem to care at all and kept giving me their very generic response then would never get back to me like they said they would. I have pictures of all of these concerns that i have also sent to vacasa. I can pick my battles with some of these. But the way it was absolutely filthy is ridiculous. The washer and dryer being on that bad of condition, hardly any hot water and a fridge that doesn't work.....those things I can't get past. Only positive things about this until is the location and size. It was a comfortable size for a family of 5."

"The room was absolutely terrible!!!! Stay far away from this so-called resort. The only positive thing was the proximity to the beach. There was only one good working elevator. Riding the other elevator was like an episode of "Fear Factor", you didn't know what to expect. The microwave didn't work, the washing machine sounded like it was about to fall through the floor from how bad it was shaking and the noise it was making, and room itself had damages that clearly did not bother the resort enough to attend to. It's safe to say that we will never be coming back to this place again!!!! By the way, those red stains are rust water from the iron that was provided. Thank God it didn't mess up my shirt. Absolute terrible!!!!!"

"The condo 917 is a lot bigger (especially the balcony) than it looks online. Great view of the pool/beach/ocean. There is a walmart caddy corner from the complex to do your grocery shopping. The beach really is a quick walk across the street and has bathrooms close by. A few things to note before going: the condo is easy to check in/out. It was very clean and they provided dish & laundry soap, paper towels, but no trash bags. You’re not allowed to have tents on the beach but the owner had an umbrella and a couple of beach games in the master closet to use. You can reserve 2 beach chairs and and umbrella ahead of time online or at the kiosk on the beach for $50/day. Not sure why but the resort only had 1 elevator that worked. Our family of 4 had a blast and would definitely stay here again."
