"If I could give this review 6 or 7 stars, I absolutely would. More details below, but the headline is this: If you’re looking for the perfect puppy experience for you and your family, RSJ is the right place for you. The process, the communication, the ongoing support and guidance – second to none. Our journey to finding the perfect puppy for us was a lengthy one. We spent a number of months determining what breed would be right for our family – including our then 8-year old son. Once we narrowed down to labs, we started our breeder research. So much information out there, but it all led us back to Shannon and family at RSJ Labradors. We visited last August and felt at home. We put our deposit down and filled out our contract and intake questionnaire. Shannon provided us with regular updates on the waiting list and expected breeding schedules. In December, we found out through the course of conversation that neighbors of ours had adopted their yellow lab from RSJ about 5 years ago – and they raved about how great everything was. Certainly made us feel good. Shortly after, we found out that two litters were coming in February and the probability of reaching our spot on the waiting list was high. From the moment our puppy was born, the level of communication from RSJ was great. Several times per week we were getting text, photo, and video updates on the litter. When we went to visit the litter, Shannon paid close attention to the way each puppy interacted with our family. When it came time to match each puppy with each family, it was obvious she took great care in looking back to our intake questionnaire, thinking about each family, and what would be best for everyone. We didn’t get the collar color our son hoped for – but we did get the collar color our son and our family needed. Which is far more important because we could not be more in love and more pleased with our puppy, Maverick. From the day Maverick came home, everyone he has come in contact with has complimented his temperament. He’s great with other adults, other kids, and other dogs. That’s no accident or lucky occurrence – the RSJ team does a great job in breeding and raising puppies. And every time I’ve sent a text with a simple question from a panicking new puppy parent, it’s been met with a quick response, sound recommendations, and kindness. We look forward to utilizing their boarding services in the future, because we know Maverick will be in great hands when he’s there. "You would be hard-pressed to find a more professional and caring breeder than RSJ Labs. The lab we received from them has been amazing in all aspects and he has been one of the easiest lab puppies I've ever owned. He is smart, easy to train, well-tempered, and very handsome (though I might be a little biased!). Shannon, the owner of RSJ Labs, made the entire experience very easy and she is there to help at every step of the process. Unlike other breeders we've dealt with, she is still available to answer questions and provide advice after you bring your puppy home. RSJ also provides excellent boarding options. "The experience from start to finish with Shannon was amazing! She always communicated with us regarding the pups before and after birth. Once the puppies were born we then got constant videos and photos! It felt like we already knew our puppy before we picked him up!
