"This vet clinic has no compassion at all! I brought my dog there out of desperation to get him to the closest clinic, but that was a huge mistake. My dog had known congestive heart failure and was having difficulty breathing in the middle of the night. I held him and hoped his condition would improve, but it did not. I went in to end his suffering and he was given sedation via injection, then left for 45 minutes of rapid labored breathing before they came and took him to have an IV inserted. I heard him yelping in the other room. Then he was returned to me to wait for the Vet. The ordeal was 2.5 hours in total. I told the vet upon her entering that this has been a very bad and difficult experience. She promptly told me I was free to leave. I replied that I wanted her to just finish what has been started and end this misery. She administered the medication and he did not pass away immediately. While she was holding her stethoscope on his heart waiting to pronounce him dead she said “I will have my staff give you your records so you can go elsewhere for care in the future!” My dog was dead now, I was holding him in my arms sobbing when she said this hateful statement to me. What care do I need in the future? No sympathy or compassion just absolutely mean and rude. Do not recommend under any circumstances!!!"
"I highly recommend River Ridge. The staff is very knowledgeable. They are great with my dogs and their prices are affordable."
"Very helpful and detail oriented. They help you understand what is wrong instead of just telling you a bunch of huge fancy terms that only they can understand. Very kind and they love your animals. They took x-ray of my old dog and they were kind and gentle. I WILL be going back."
"It only took me about 4 years but I’m finally getting a chance to let others know why I would never return to this veterinary office. Let me start by saying that dr hooks while very professional, did not work with us at all with the pricing of surgery (which came with no guarantees to save Duke’s life). We then signed over rights to save Duke and have him fostered by a family that would adopt him. It was so very hard to do so because he had been a member of our family for nearly 7 years. We had rescued him, helped him recover from some trauma and provided a safe home *with a fenced 1/2 acre* for our sweet boy. I don’t know why this is, but I expected the vet to work with us some in price or to settle and agree upon a fair price for the surgery, but this was never the case. When one signs over rights for re-homing, one would assume that the vet would call the original owners up after about a year or more if failed attempts to regime and it not working out with any new family… well Duke has been boarded and kept in the vet office for 3+ years now and it’s always one story or another when I check on how he is doing. “Oh he is going to live at the dog haven cabin/ acres out in the country..” oh Duke is well loved (which I don’t doubt given what a sweet boy he is) and well kept and gets to play in the circle with other dogs…” -or the latest, “Duke is going to live with one of the vet techs.” If this is true, then why is he still at the office?? He is a large dog who needs to be in a fenced area with room to run and play. Taking family pets away is wrong and I would hope in the future you consider what this means to a family who lovingly rescued and cared for the member of their family but just couldn’t pay the cost of surgery. Perhaps next time you could settle on an agreed price like many animal hospitals out there.. sad."
