"The location does need to get back to customer service indoors though; everything is too automated and takes away the warm diner feel. Drive through service for the past two visits has been awesome, rapid, accurate and the food was good."

"We have been here numerous times the last few years. Don't waste your time and money here, go to the Sanford location by the mall. The orange city location is nasty, it's so dirty and the food is typically cold/barely warm. The Sanford location is beyond amazing. The workers are super nice and it's really clean, food is always piping hot. Worth the extra drive."

"I have not been out to eat with my family in months. Steak n Shake just isn't what it use to be. I remember being greeted upon entering and having to wait to be seated. I was really confused upon entering and not one person working acknowledging we existed. 5 minutes in someone finally explained what to do. So we order ourselves, seat ourselves and pick up our own food from the kitchen? The audacity of the mobile order machine asking for a tip was so comical. I almost pissed myself. You should put a tip jar out for the cooks after we have been able to eat the meal. If I ever return again, it will definitely be in the drive through only."

"The manager during the day does a great job with the food. Not sure who's training night crew but this burger I got was poorly made, drenched in butter and salt with little to no cheese."

"We haven't been here for a couple of years so we wanted to try it again. it was definitely better than expected. You order your own food from a kiosk and they have self service drinks which I think is better, you can get a refill when you want."
