"When booking I knew it was an old hotel, the on line pictures are deceiving as it looked clean.. Stayed 1 night to be close to the airport & a last walk on the beach. The front desk people were very nice & I was able to get an early check in on a Thursday. The lobby & whole hotel is dated, worn out & either needs a complete remodel or demolition. The pool looked decent though I didn't use it, chairs looked old. Unfortunately the room was so awful I almost checked out & left. Room service was just finishing changing & making the beds so I did see they were clean sheets. That is the only thing I liked about the room, sheets & towels were soft. The carpets are filthy looking, paint chipping. Looked like the bathroom walls & fixtures had been at one time painted over & now peeling. The location is great right across the street from the beach but that is the only good thing. Not worth staying here. The walls are very thin & the next room had tv on loud & late. You can also hear all the noise of people walking late at night going to their rooms."
"Restaurant and bar is NOT operating as of 2/13/24. Pool is NOT heated as mentioned in the hotel amenities. Way smaller than the photos. Staff service is ok. They will charge your for just about anything extra you may need - even use for a microwave. (Which are not in the rooms.) Location is the highlight of this venue. Across from the beach and an AMAZING coffee/bakery shop less than a block away."
"Pros: Great location, within walking distance to beach, restaraunts, and museums, friendly staff, and decent pool area. Pro: Absolutely disgusting, smelly, outdated rooms. There were roaches under the fridge. I was in a room, where the smell was stomach churning, I was moved to another room, where the patio door would not completely close, or open, the carpet was filthy, and roaches were under the fridge, and in the door lock. The entire hotel is outdated, and in need of repair, and the restaurant is closed. Not that I would eat there with Roaches in the door knob. This entire hotel should be demolished."
"Thais is an old hotel with dirty rooms in a good location. I wasn’t satisfied with my experience staying here. I booked this hotel online and arrived around noon, but my room wasn’t ready yet, so the concierge let me store my luggage with them until it was. This hotel is a little dated inside, and the lobby had a beautiful 70s style design. There’s a ramp leading up from the lobby to the hotel’s onsite restaurant and bar, but it’s closed due to construction. The room I stayed in had two comfortable beds and a small balcony with a table and chairs. The room was a little old, but it was good enough for me. However, that changed after I noticed how dirty the room’s carpet was. There was so much dirt on the carpet that it left large black spots on my white socks, and it blackened the soles of my feet too. The bathroom was also quite small. I gave this hotel two two stars because it’s in a good location, but its rooms aren’t clean. I would’ve given this hotel four or five stars if it wasn’t for its disgusting carpet that was dirty enough to blacken my feet."
"Location is good and that's about it. It is an older place, and it is just run down. Most of the electrical outlets in the room do not work and the ones that do shoot fire out when you plug up anything. The shower is extremely low pressure with very little hot water and the toilets barely flush. They charge you a daily safe fee and you probably need it. The parking lot isn't big enough for all the guest and I do not recommend you staying here unless you just have to. We also smelled weed in our room daily as mentioned in other reviews. We did not see the bugs that others speak of. Also, if you stay near room 307 the people that live in that room do not shut up all night and they don't care who they are bothering. The lobby area smells like rotten eggs. We stayed 4 days and survived and some of the stuff we seen gave us some great comic relief. Also, the AC doesn't really cool the room, and this wasn't during the heat of summer. We did not use room service, because we didn't want them in our room."
