"If I could give this horrid place a negative 100 zeroes, I would! My church and I come to Jacksonville every year in February for a church event (Black Heritage Weekend). We got there earlier than check-in time of 3pm, so some of us has to wait for our rooms to be cleaned, which we didn't mind. But it all went downhill afterwards. First, my mom requested four double with a pull-out couch because we had many kids. This request was made months in advance before we arrived. Well, we only rooms with 2 queen beds, and when my mom asked them about it, she was told that there was nothing else that could be done. Our room? Absolutely filthy! The toilet were disgusting, the tub was dirty, some of the pillowcases had blue stains on them, the sheets were yellow, and there was only one trash can in the room. The chairs were also dirty. There were no extra towels and washcloths available. When we inquired about this, we were told that they were out and that none would be available until after 9am the next day! The carpet was dingy; seemed like it wasn't cleaned in months. The coffee pot didn't have a place to put filter in. When my mom asked about this, she was told that they were disposable and that they kept them at the front desk, and that she would have to come down and get one. When we came back from one of our events the next day, we noticed that the room wasn't clean. Again, my mom called and was told that she would have to call and request housekeeping to clean, take out trash, and we would have to ask for towels for ourselves. For the price that we paid, the rooms.and service was below subpar and beyond pathetic. I wouldn't even put a homeless person to stay here. Yes, this hotel is just that bad! -100 out of 10. I most definitely would not recommend. I'm calling corporate about our experience."
"Beware! Final price on your confirmation is NOT the final price. They also whack you for $12 parking fee, even though the parking lot is not gated or secured. Upon returning from dinner there were 2 or 3 car fulls of people in the back parking lot that didn't appear to be staying there. We moved our car around front under a light. Very sketchy to say the least. The renovations were well under way too. Paint fumes on our floor and sanded particles all over the rug. The rooms should have been half price. Last time there for us."
"For the price that we paid, the room was filthy. Not even joking, there was blood on my pillow and you could tell that the toilet bowl hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The pubes behind the toilet we’re real cute. This hotels saving grace was Ms. Tina at breakfast. She was amazing. Thank you Tina for being awesome at what you do!"
"Room service by default was scheduled every other day. This is new to me. The staff said everyday service was by request, so I submitted such. But the staff failed to convey this request to the room service staff. As such my bed was not made and my trash piled up so much that it overflowed the receptacles. The bathroom had only a single towel and there was no soap in the bathroom. I was too tired to trod down the front desk so I had to bathe with shampoo. The shower had thick streak of mold at the caulk line. All of these deficiencies indicate examples of a super cheap hotel. Yet your marketing posits your inn as a moderate to upscale facility, which is what I thought I was getting when I reserved my room. As an example, the inn had no vending machines, but instead offered a canteen in which the snack items were three times the price one would pay from a vending machine. If you serve your customers with an expensive canteen, then your establishment should reflect high quality in all other areas of service. I will never stay at a Hampton Inn again. My accommodations would have been nicer at a Super 8."
"The place is filthy. The hallway by the rear entrance reeks of urine. The elevator floors were dirty and sticky. The carpets are all very dirty. There were ants in my room. The bathroom has lots of mold and there was black ring in the toilet. I rely on Hampton Inn to be clean and comfortable accommodations. While I understand there was some construction at this location, this is more of a maintenance issue as there is no effort to keep the place clean. This location does not live up to the Hampton Inn banner."
