Hampton Inn & Suites Ft. Lauderdale West-Sawgrass/Tamarac, FL

"Do NOT stay at this hotel. I booked this hotel via Expedia for my sons soccer tournament. The hotel is labeled pet friendly on Expedia which was a plus since I had to bring along my 2 dogs however was not aware of the insane pet fee that was later charged to me without so much as a heads up. From the time I checked in the front desk receptionist had an attitude and was very unpleasant. Upon check out we strip the beds for house keeping and discover urine stains on both the pull out bed and the king bed. Utterly unacceptable and disgusting. The king bed did not even have a mattress cover. I typically stay at Marriott and will not be staying at a Hilton property again after this horrible experience. (See pictures of both beds)"

"Room 310 on 2/18/24. Hilton Honors member since 2004. Around midnight the toilet would not flush. Yuck. Consequently we had to go downstairs in our PJs to use the lobby restrooms each and every time nature called throughout the night. Not fun. I understand it was a holiday weekend and maintenance staff was scant ... but still. When I reported the problem in person at 8am the lady at the front counter was polite and courteous but I felt that an adjusted rate (without me asking) was in order. Oh well. PS: When their guy repaired the toilet it still was not completely fixed. Therefore, we continued using the lobby restrooms until we checked out late in the morning. We're a loyal Hampton family and feel we deserve better."

"The rooms are nicely laid out and the amenities are plentiful... however, when we went to stay the night, there were tiny roaches all over the sink. It was a whole swarm of them. We spotted at least 10 in the sink area alone. The breakfast was a let down, also. We have stayed at other Hampton Inn properties that had much better breakfast. The potatoes did not have any seasoning so they tasted like nothing while the fridge did not have any chocolate milk like other Hampton Inn properties we've been to. Great area but several improvements could be made"

"Convenient location. Super friendly front desk. Good breakfast selection. I was on the second floor, so can’t speak to all the rooms, but I felt like an update was needed. Everything was clean and comfy but a bit outdated. Only 1 USB port in the room; the fridge was on a wall switch, so if the switch wasn’t on the fridge wasn’t working. I appreciate the mounted amenities in the shower but they were almost out of reach for me (I’m 5’), so if you have kids or are short like me, it’s not ideal. Totally met my needs for the night."

"The stay was just ok. The breakfast restaurant was the best experience for me. Only one elevator worked the entire time. The ironing board cover in the room had stains. I think guests are using the ironing boards as tables and leaving food stains. Either way, I believe the cover should have been changed. The workers at the hotel were friendly and accommodating. Especially, the front desk workers during the day-time."
