"1 star for office staff, 4 stars for Dr. Mahoney. I'm a former patient of Dr. Mahoney's. Dr. Mahoney is a great Dermatologist, but it's become apparent that he has grown too busy to see his repeat patients. I called today to schedule an annual skin check and was informed by Hannah that his first availability for such an appointment would be April (that would 8 months to wait). Hannah asked if I wanted to see another Dr. in the office and I declined because I do like Dr. Mahoney's thoroughness on his annual exam. Within the last year, I had referred 2 other people to his office, and they were very unhappy with the office staff. I apologized to them because I had not experienced this - until today. I had planned to talk to the Dr. about this in person during my exam, but I didn't want to wait 8 months to share this, so I asked Hannah to please get a message to the Dr. I told her that I was disappointed that the people I referred had experienced very bad customer service from the front office staff and that I thought 8 months to wait for an annual skin check seemed a bit absurd. She quickly got defensive and began interrupting, telling me how long his days were, etc. I told her I just wanted the Dr. to understand that he's losing patients due to these reasons. And she chuckled and said "not really, if he's booking that far out and working from 8 - 4 every day". That was it for me. That snarky comment alone sealed the deal. I will not go to an office that allows patients to be talked to that way, mainly because I too have worked front desk and insurance verification for a physician's office and would have been let go for such behavior. So this is 3 people that I know of who will not be going back to this practice. I hope the Dr. takes the time to read this and considers re-training his office staff at both offices. I will begin my search for a new Dermatologist today."
