HAVANA 86 - Authentic Cuban Flavor

"One of my worst experiences mainly in terms of customer service. We waited almost 10 mins and no one came and on top of it the table was dirty. Certainly, my family and I won’t come again. I do not recommend it at all. In other words, a total lack of professionalism. Regarding the comment below from the “owner”: First, there was no line at all. Second, the waitress told us to sit wherever we wanted because she said that area was ready. Third, I did not scream, I always treat people very politely but firmly, and finally, be more receptive when you know you are not doing a good job."

"I was in Tampa for just a couple of weeks and I had a craving for good Cuban food. I checked out Havana 86 and I'm happy to say the food was delicious. I ordered the pork chunks with yellow rice, red beans, and plantains. Everything was very good. I washed it down with a nice cold Corona. Two minor disappointments ... First, I ordered red beans, but they served me black beans. I explained to the server the mistake, but she didn't understand English and I don't speak Spanish. OK, not a big deal. I prefer red beans, but will eat black beans as a second choice. Second, not once during the meal did the server check with me to see if I needed anything or to see if i was satisfied with my meal. The next time she DID come to my table was when she brought me the check. Despite these two disappointments, I still left her a 20% tip. Maybe she had a rough day, maybe not. I just know I'm going back again because the food was wonderful."

"While in the vicinity the wife and I tried a fairly new Cuban restaurant I saw on social media. They have a nice selection of authentic foods, sandwiches and Cuban pizza. Bring and extra serving of patience because these girls are in no hurry whatsoever to tend to the customer, unless they know you. They will wander around aimlessly for a while for no apparent reason. We ordered sandwiches and a chorizo pizza. The pizza was small with a very thick crust, a mediocre cheese and the chorizo was very bland. Not recommended. The sandwiches on the other hand were very flavorful. Loved the flavors on my Steak sandwich, the perfect combination of ingredients. The palomilla however was very tough and chewy. My wifes Lechon sandwich was perfect. A fairly non-descirpt ambiance. You can sit at a table or cozy up to the counter for your meal. The service is faster at the counter. I would not make a special trip to this place but I would stop in again if I am in the area as it is better than La Teresita."

"I recently dined at the Havana 86 restaurant, and I must say, both the food and service were excellent. The flavors of the dishes transported me to Havana, and the service was attentive throughout the meal. A delightful experience that I would highly recommend!"

"This place is clean. The menu has variety of beef, poultry, pork and seafood. The food is fantastic and expedited hot in a timely manner. The service is always very good and all servers are very friendly and dressed alike. They are open until late when other places are closed. I had a tamal and a steak sandwich with a passion fruit juice. Try it! Enjoy!"
