We also hope that some exceptional doctors take the even harder road to be a General Practitioner, with necessary knowledge of the community they serve, where they will be constantly challenged and can't just rely on developed expert knowhow. It's clear that Dr. Lowman has dedicated his life to his patients and his family, including adopted children (he stays close to family with ample pictures in his office). It's also just impossible not to like him -- he is such a "nice guy." He is a prime example of competence and awesomeness in a human.
