"My experience at Associated Family Medicine is one I want to forget. I found their information on UHC's website. I was extremely pleased that they were both close to my home and within my network since my primary care is in Celebration. The reason for my visit was to have a second opinion. I've been experiencing episodes of dizziness and headaches that are affecting my quality of life. The day of my appointment I was extremely positive and upbeat that I will be having a fresh pair of eyes to look over all my paper work that I've accumulated with my primary in the hopes that perhaps my doctor might have missed something or maybe there was something more that can be done for me. My upbeat positive attitude was quickly diminished when I was helped by the front office. When I was done signing all my new patient paper work, I took a seat. I was called as soon as I sat down and was made aware that there was a page that was not signed. First, there was a page that I choose not sign since I did not want my information released... only with the exception of the insurance company for payment purposes (which I have the right not to sign). Brittany (front office rep) was rude with me for not signing it. Second, she pointed out that I forget a signature for HIPPA, no problem. However, as I was signing my signature I had placed the page on top of the patient sign-in list. She realizes it and quickly snatches the page form my hand (causing a paper cut by the way) whilst raising her voice at me that I was writing on top of a carbon copy list! Unbelievable - how was I to know? The real question here is why was I being treated was such disrespect? I was absolutely speechless! There was someone else that was speechless: the MA that was waiting for me at the door who witnessed everything. I don't remember being treated so poor in my life. I cried. I cried while the MA was taking my weight. I cried while the MA was taking my blood pressure. I cried while waiting on the doctor to see me. The MA was extremely sweet to me, apologizing profusely. She got me a cup of water and did her best to get me to stop. So Dr. Arsen-Weeks comes in (not the owner). I explained to her what had just happened a few minutes ago... on how I was treated and all I got was "hmm I'm not saying this because I work with her but she's not usually like that". Your kidding me right? You have a patient so visibly upset and those are your words of wisdom? There was no emotion from this doctor... complete robot. No sincere kind words... no offer of an a apology. Nothing. Over two weeks have passed and I've not heard from anyone regarding this incident. So anyone reading this that is thinking about making an appointment, I urge you not to. This place deserves no patients. They have doctors that are just there to receive a check... ones that do not go above and beyond for their patients. They have front office personnel that are rude, incapable of doing their job and are a disservice to the other employees (that do a good job) and of all things a disservice to the patients."
