"Please do not donate in this store, donate in the churches, this store is altering the prices as if it were new, this is a donation store, there are many people in need and they cannot even afford to buy there anymore."
"So today I went shopping at this local community Salvation Army store in Florida City! I am a faithful and regular customer who has not only made many purchases over the years but has donated many items most of them brand new with tags still on them. Today I was in line and purchased 4 ladies clothing items, a belt and 3 coffee mugs. A new cashier waited on me at the front check out counter. I used my card and paid. She wrapped my mugs up in paper and that is when she noticed my bag of clothing had disappeared. A witness in the other line told the store employees that the lady in line next to me took my bag and walked out the store. Mind you, I am still at the check out counter. The store manager, Ben and another male employee ran out in the parking lot to try and find her but she had already disappeared. Now the store manager calls the District Office and i am told that they will not refund my money because that is their policy. After telling me that I could file a police report but they have no responsibility to refund my money back, I expressed my disbelief and consternation regarding this situation. Ben, the manager, even stated that he was aware that I’m a regular customer there. Additionally, I told him that not only am I a customer but I have referred many family, friends and my sorority sisters to shop and support The Salvation Army Store(s). I am happy to report that Ben ultimately did the right thing and personally CashApped me my money back from his own account! My message to anyone who shops there, is to always remain vigilant because if something happens you will have no recourse even if you are still at the check out counter or in their store."
"Pricing is outrageous. You can't even get good deals from these types of places anymore. It's like they've got a crew of people sitting in the back, researching the value of every item, and then placing the highest price tag on it possible. I thought these were thrift shops? They should call these places " rip shops, " instead of thrift shops.. What a joke!"
"Really good place to buy books - they have a lot of used college textbooks, cookbooks, fiction, & non fiction. I forget what day, however 1 day a week, paperback books are .99 - Architecture books, Biblical, history, etc."
