"Great place. Trendy with great music, atmosphere, food is delicious like you will not find in other places. It’s a twist for Japanese food with best pieces of it exaggerated in American way :)"
"This is a restaurant on the high-end side. People come very dressy. You can see there is a scene. The food is good, but not excellent. The sushi has too much rice around it especially for the price you’re paying! The libations are overpriced. The service definitely has to be improved! We dined there the first time and nobody told us (from all the servers coming to our table) before we ordered that it’s going to be tapas sharing style, and the food will not come out at the same time. Very important detail that was not mentioned! Disappointing! Because our party of four had ordered their food and we were all eating separately! It was not a nice situation to be eating food by yourself while the others were watching because their food was coming in different times … If they would tell us that it’s shareable and food will not come out at the same time, we would have made different choices with our orders. We will not go back."
"I had the best meal of my life at AB in Istanbul, so when I saw there was a location nearby on a trip I had to share the experience with my GF. We went for NYE prefix menu, first seating. It was a mess, took over 1 hour to get the first dish from being seated. Drink order was not even taken for 20+ mins from being seated. Just doesn’t feel acceptable for a restaurant of this caliber charging what it is. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and not attended to the whole night, let the GM know on the way out. The above is a huge bummer because the food was fantastic. The classics like the tuna pizza never fail but one of our favorites was the caviar ball to start the meal. At $275 pp + 20% auto gratuity, not sure I can say it’s worth the price given the poor experience."
"We went for our anniversary and all I can say is wow!! We were there 15 mins before our reservation but they were able to sit us. Everything from the food, to the service, to the drinks was perfect! We had the hot mess, the perfect storm, and the octopus…all delicious!!! Our server was super informative and friendly. Somehow I was given an older drink menu and when I ordered the drink, he didn’t know what it was BUT he still asked the bartender to make it for me and they did. I had booked on OpenTable months before and I had specified it was our anniversary so they included a dessert after our meal! I thought that was super sweet of them since no one does that anymore! Thank you for the great drinks, dinner, and awesome experience! We have recommended to our friends in Delray!!"
"We came to Akira a year ago and we were excited to go back as we had a blast last time, unfortunately we were disappointed. Let’s start by what’s good: we had an outdoor table, great setting with cute plants and light, no loud music so you can enjoy a conversation. Service was quick and friendly. We got disappointed by the food. We had the Wagyu tomahawk which was a huge disappointment. The meat was flavorless. Definitely different from the first time we came. We had the Yuzu Citrus for desert, it was beautifully presented but boring otherwise. We had one main, one side, one drink and one desert ended up $200 for two, before tips. We only liked the side (Japanese mushroom). Needless to say it was a unsatisfactory diner."
