"I was 15 years old when I started seeing David Lustig. At the time, he had an adolescent group that he ran in the evenings. Before meeting Dr. Lustig, or as we called him, Dave, I was severely depressed, suffering from anxiety, loneliness, suicidal ideation, and had no one I felt could understand me. I spent most of my life in and out of different counselors’ office, feeling like none of them really could help me and that I would be stuck in this very dark state for the rest of my life. I had been Baker Acted before meeting Dave, due to withdrawal effects from an anti depressant I was prescribed (Paxil). When I was released from the hospital, I knew I needed real help and my mom found Dave. After seeing the trust the other teens in the group had for Dave I decided to see him individually. I’m 33 years old today and I can honestly say Dave saved my life. I know I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for Dave. He’s incredible at what he does."
