"Dr. Robbins does not actually help his patients, he does one establishing appointment with you, and then sets you up to see an assistant for ever visit after that. The patient portal shows who you'll be seeing in your upcoming appointment, but the name will be changed to Dr. Robbins afterwards to give him credit for things he isn't doing. In the one meeting I had with him, he seemed short and dismissive and did not give the impression that he cared about me or my condition at all. The fact that he told me very early in the conversation "You know this is the only time you'll see me, right?" didn't help. Made me wonder why I was even there. But I went ahead with the process because I was referred there by my therapist. Colette, the assistant of his that I dealt with afterwards never seemed knowledgeable about much of anything and couldn't answer many of my questions, always telling me she needs to ask Dr. Robbins or run something by him before making any changes to my medication. Both of them ignored my complaints about previous medications I had taken and was told multiple times to keep taking one that I already knew didn't help me even after I told them I wasn't comfortable putting it in my body anymore due to the side effects of it. I was told Dr. Robbins would have to speak to me about it personally and he would call me, but he never did and Colette seemed to have forgotten about it by the time of my next appointment. The last time I was there, I was told to maintain the medications I was on and I could request a dosage increase via the patient portal if I felt I needed it to have a stronger effect. I wound up having a crisis and attempted and failed to end my life, so I reached out via the patient portal the next morning, specifically mentioning that I had attempted suicide and I wanted my medication to be stronger. I was coldly told to call and schedule an appointment. No acknowledgement of the fact that Colette had specifically told me she could up my dosage on request via the patient portal, and no concern or care for the fact that I had just told her I had attempted suicide less than 24 hours previously. I called in to cancel my upcoming monthly appointment and never went back. This is not the type of mental health care that's going to help me, or anybody who actually needs it. 4 months later, Google asked me to review businesses I've been to. I shared my story about Blue Umbrella because I saw how many positive reviews are here that specifically mention Dr. Robbins as being caring and attentive to his patients, etc. This is confusing because I was told over the phone before ever coming in for my first visit that Dr. Robbins would only see me once to establish my account and after that I would be seeing someone else, and then this was confirmed by him in person, and by every other visit or call I had after that. Dr. Robbins was NOT my doctor, he is just a figurehead for the business who looks at notes written by people who work under him and undoubtedly get paid much less since they don't even have the same credentials as him. After posting my review however, I decided to take it down because I typically don't write nasty reviews about any business and I felt like it was better for my own mental health to only say what's positive and leave out the rest. But Dr. Robbins ruined that one by calling my cell phone to probe me about this review, and then following up by emailing me the same day. He pretended that he was "concerned" and "felt bad" that my experience was negative, but I know for a fact that he's full of it because all he's doing is trying to protect his image. He never called me when there was concerns about my medication that he specifically was supposed to talk to me about, and there was no followup when I told them that I tried and failed to kill myself while under their "care". But leave a bad Google review? That's the way to get a response from this "caring and attentive Doctor". What a joke. Avoid this place at all costs. This man doesn't deserve your money or any recognition."
"If you are a patient searching for psychiatric care or a therapist searching to refer a client- look no further!! Dr. Eric Robbins and his team at Blue Umbrella are the most trusted to work with!! I have referred numerous clients over the years and can not begin to describe the satisfactory results each of my clients reports. Dr. Robbins is not the typical psychiatrist who prescribes medications as a “quick fix”. He fully listens and encourages clients to participate in therapy and attempt to find the core of the problem while exploring solutions . His experience and expertise are unmatched!!"
"Dr. Eric Robbins is a fantastic Psychiatrist who is welcoming and warm to his patients. He is always willing to help his patients and has a system set up where he can contact them within 24 hours. He walked me through my treatment options and was attentive to my concerns. He helped me realize that I have ADHD, and has given me the necessary medication and tools to handle my condition. Psychiatric help gets a bad rap, but there's no denying that Dr. Robbins is one of the best choices in this field, and I look forward to working with him as long as I need to best handle my ADHD."
"I came to this practice to get help with treatment resistant anxiety/depression. I was greeted courteously and introduced to this wonderful nurse, Icolin Darby. I immediately felt safe, comfortable and understood. Her genuinely caring and compassionate character immediately made me feel that things would get better and I’m glad I trusted her because things did get better thanks to the care and therapy I received. I had ketamine infusions and can testify to the fact that this treatment has made a significant improvement in my life considering how I was feeling when I first came. A month later and I’m already feeling more positive, hopeful and have opened up my eyes to the countless possibilities that life has to offer. Again, I’m thankful to this wonderful nurse who helped me navigate this dark chapter with such compassion, professionalism and empathy. Can’t thank her enough for pushing and believing in me. She’s a true gem."
