"I have never written a review on the internet in my life, but I feel so compelled to write a review for Dr. Sarah Ravin because I TRULY believe she not only saved my daughters life, but saved our entire family. It has been one year since our family and now 12 year old daughter began treatment with Dr. Ravin. If you are reading this review trying to find a doctor, look no further, you have found your path to recovery. We have been where you are right now...scared and not knowing what to do. As the same as most families just learning your child has an eating disorder, after going through the disbelief and initial shock, we began learning everything we could on eating disorders and struggled to find good help. We went through many doctors in the beginning. We learned that FBT is the most scientifically proven type of care that has the highest recovery rate, but strangely, many doctors are slow to begin to practice this type of treatment. AN is a biological brain disorder. Science proves this. Dr. Ravin will teach you all about FBT. She will teach you what has to be done and how to do it. It will be difficult, but you can do it. Dr. Ravin will give you actual statistics with how many many children she has/had under her care, ages, recovery rates with time periods etc. Almost ALL have recovered and are leading happy, healthy lives! Dr. Ravin even put us in touch with other parents of past patients, so we could ask questions and hear their stories of recovery. ThIS was wonderful for us as we knew we weren't alone and there was HOPE! We live more than an hour away from Dr. Ravin, and I was skeptical at first when she offered to do phone conferences with my husband and I. In the beginning, we spoke to her once a week via phone conference and saw her about once a month. It really worked because you will learn that the parents are the ones that need the most assistance during the initial phase of treatment. We now speak to her once every couple months and see her once every few months. Our daughter is still in recovery but has come a very very long way from last year. The eating disorder no longer rules our lives. Our daughters full and complete recovery is just on the horizon. She will then work with Dr. Ravin to develop skills to learn to recognize signs if the ED ever tries to rear its ugly head again, how to squash it and manage to lead a happy, healthy life!"
